You are very right in the way you are handling this, if a woman shys away she is not the right woman. As a father first and foremost you must protect your children. If that means preventing them from becoming attached to a woman who may not be there tomorrow than so be it. Keep up the good work!!

Im not really sure why they shy off.... maybe they are wanting to be more involved in your life sooner than what you are comfortable with.
I think you are doing the right thing.

When i first started dating again, after my divorce, i kept my personal life to myself, my children did not meet anyone ....until i knew that it could be potentially be something that may last some time, i want stable things in their lives, there was no need for them to meet everyone i had a date with.

your not in the wrong for doing that cause you want to get to know her and feel her out before she meets your kids cause your probably like alot guys don't want a lot of women in and out of your kids life but some women feel you are a package deal and want to meet the kids right away i have dated guys with kids and love kids i want to start to get to know them as soon as possible

If I was one of those women, I would feel like you're trying to push me away... like you don't want me to meet your kids because I'm not good enough or you're not that interested. Most women love kids.

No, I agree with your wish to not have a string of "friends" come and go.
Maybe your dates are afraid that you have the ill mannered brats from hell.
Try telling a couple of sweet stories, and leave it at that.

Absolutely not - you are being a responsible parent - keep it up! Your children are fortunate to have you looking out for their well-being. My hat goes off to you!

when you say that it means that you dont think the relationship would be going anymore... and women feel like your testing them so they back off cause noone likes to feel like theyre being tested...
