HI KyaJay,
It comes down to personal choice. It can be for many reasons.
Someone at my Fiance's work does not wear her engagement ring because she doesn't like it!
If a woman has a large stone in the ring and has an active lifestyle it may get in the way.
It may be very expensive and they only wear it for special occasions.
Or maybe it just won't go with a particular outfit and other piece of jewelery you may be wearing at the time for a big night out.
You decide what you want to do yourself.
Personally I love my ring and don't won't to take it off!

It may be different for different people. Some women stop wearing the diamond (except on special occasions) after they have kids, so it doesn't get in the way. If you live in a rough area it may be smart not to wear it daily. Or if you gain weight getting the band sized could be cheaper than the engagement ring.

You don't ever stop wearing one. Some people only wear one ring, and its usually the wedding ring. This is not because of choice, usually one of the following reasons:
1)people get enganged before they get married theirfore they are usually thinner and after marriage for whatever reason they get heavier (weight gain) and therefore their engagement ring does not fit anymore, instead of sizing it they just put away.
2) and because some people dont have engament rings, they just have a wedding ring, Believe it or not some people skip that step.

The women without engagement rings might never have received an engagement ring from their husband. There's no set time that you have to stop wearing your engagement ring, it's all about personal preference.

You never stop wearing the engagement ring. Once you are married the wedding band signifies unity between two souls.
It is actually up to you but I wouldn't stop wearing the engagement ring

so long as you keep the wedding ring on if the two do not fit together as a set then you may wear the first ring as long as you want but you may not sell it .

I wore it only when I knew I wasn't going to damage it. Had a Marine I worked with on the Rifle Range that lost her solitare on the firing line...needless to say, it was a goner (firing lines are outside, normally in a sandy area). I bought another "working" band altogether after that (I had diamonds in my band).
Other than that, if you aren't going to bang it around, Keep that baby on! I bet it is beautiful, isn't it?
Show it off! (but get the prongs checked at a jewler every year to make sure the solitare is secure)
