Isn't this just the dumbest crap? They are so lacking in their own faith that they cannot deal with a world where people disagree with them.
Makes me laugh like there was no tomorrow.

Just to head this off at the pass:
Many, some, either way -- an indication of 'not all, a subset, a partition of the group'.

Sadly, it's more than one. There's quite a few floating around here who claim it.

No generalization was made. Many does not imply most, many simply implies "a number more than a few", and a few is generally defined as 3-5, which is more than a couple which is generally defined as two.
No generalization was made. There are more than 5 people who have made this claim in the time I've been here.

In the past three days I've had four people assert that atheism does not exist via email. Well known posters here, as it happens. However, they made no threat, so I will not give their names -- only time I reveal the contents of private communication is if a threat is made.

Yes, I've taken discrete math. If there are no marbles in the bowl, the statement, "All the marbles in the bowl are red," is logically true, because the converse, "there exists a marble in the bowl such that it is not red" is false.
Note the use of the word 'MANY' in my question.
No generalization was made.

I know most Christians are smarter than this extreme fringe minority I'm asking about.
You are a beautiful example, and if I was making it to the R&S Prom, I'd gladly ask to sign your dance card.

Well, as a Christian, I am not quite sure what you mean about some or many Christians asserting that atheists don't exist. Of course atheists exist - duh! Anyone who denies this is not looking at reality. From a strictly Christian (and not judgmental) point of view, it is sad however, that there are many people who don't believe in God. Many will say that the Bible cannot be proven, nor can God be proven. Many others however, will say that God and the Bible can be proven to be real and true. Whatever one's perspective, I don't have a problem with others disagreeing with me or the way I believe. I only have a problem with anyone, atheist, Christian or someone else, disrespecting and being unkind to someone simply because they believe differently than someone else does.

Do you remember in school when you had those word problems that started off "If all Balls are round and some balls are green, does that make all balls round and green?"
This is what you are doing, you are labeling all Christians as people who do not believe athiests exist. I believe they do and I am Christian. I believe that many Christians totally need a swift kick in the rear for believing some of the crap they believe (like you can be forgiven for committing a sin that is acceptable such as stealing, but you can't be forgiven for committing a 'sin' such as being gay) That to me is the dumbest crap I have ever heard. Christians are hypocrites, but then so is everyone else when it comes down to it. We are all dumb in some way, some are just easier targets.

I know exactly the person you are talking about too. He's always running around sayint that there's no such things as Atheists, Agnostics, FreeThinkers, Humanists, or non Christians. And that there's no such thing as Atheism, Agnosticism, Humanism, FreeThought or any other religions. It's kind of funny but at the same time kind of sad. Dude the first answerer doesn't even answer your question.

Christians who insult those of alternative faiths [like Muslims and Jews] deserve the literal or figurative *** whooping that comes their way. i've got seen crap in my 50 years from "Muhammed raped little ladies" to "in case you do not talk in tongues you will burn in Hell". I sometimes ask your self while the Christian insanity will come to an end, yet cynically comprehend that it will not end till Christianity destroys the full international with its totalitarian dogmas. while in comparison with idiots like St. Paul and the Church Fathers like Tertullian or St. Augustine, the awareness of the East like Buddha or Lao Tzu comes like a clean heady scent of roses in the time of a cesspool or slough of lack of awareness and hypocrisy. Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Taoists for all their faults under no circumstances got here up with the insanity of a few thing like the Holy Inquisition the place a 5 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous female must be burned on the stake as a witch because of the fact a farmer's vegetation failed. there isn't something in the different faith like the insanity of thinking ones eternal trip spot isn't desperate via what you assert or do, yet via mere concept? i could have faith that the moon is created from cheese. What does that do? not something in any respect. i could have faith Jesus died for my sins. What does that do? not something yet reiterate 2000 years [incredibly much] of propaganda. concept does impression habit, yet finally that's the habit that concerns. and that i'm ill to dying of "you're an atheist [or agnostic, or Buddhist, or Hindu, or Muslim or Jew], as a result, you're doomed to eternal damnation." As J. J. Rousseau pronounced in his Social settlement "No faith it fairly is illiberal is to be tolerated." sufficient of those issues. Time for some severe smackdown and payback for 2000 years of Christian abuse of the rights of the the remainder of humanity. you comprehend what's humorous?. in basic terms 200 years have freethinkers been waiting to talk, instruct, write freely and with the aid of this short 200 years while in comparison with the 1800 3 hundred and sixty 5 days Christian monopoly on Western Civilization, we've gained and gained huge time. We the David have crushed the Goliath of Christianity. incredibly solid checklist for as a result few warriors going against a militia of over one billion human beings!. the only real faith is further and further finding like the only huge Fraud that is. The Christian monopoly on certainty is OVER. Now the interest is honest and you're dropping and dropping undesirable.

Yup, it's idiotic.
I also think it's ridiculous that people are so fast to pull out the "you're overgeneralizing" line that they failed to notice that you specifically DIDN'T.
For every person here who overgeneralizes, there has to be five or ten who complain about overgeneralization. Give it a rest, folks - that's a sorry substitute for a thoughtful critique.

I generally think they do it just to annoy us. I also think that they cannot grasp the concept of life without a god in it, without the promise of an afterlife and without the confines of all the rules that go along with christianity. It's why they think we're all without morals. They apparently need those commandments to behave so they cannot understand how we can do right without them.
But some (like JCR) just do it to be annoying.

J.P. : You are obviously, attempting to get a "rise" out of the Christian posters on this site, with your overly generalized question. Now; for you claiming or holding to the "intelligent" posture, don't you think that you could represent your Atheistic counter part faction with more objectivity ?
