Now, I'm a Pagan (Happy Belated Ostara, by the way!) and I realized something...
... if someone could do the same things Jesus did in the Bible, or similar things, and said they were the son of God...
... they'd be thrown in the looney bin or put in jail.
So, theoretically, couldn't Christians be waiting for a second coming that'll never come!
I mean, take a walk down Broadway sometime in NYC... a lot of homeless people screamin' out they're Jesus. What if one of them's it, eh? Or what if the Christians already put the new Jesus into the looney bin?
Just a thought. Meant for laughs more than anything. But you can ponder it, too, if you want.

For the record, again, I am PAGAN, and am NOT Christian.
This is just more of a question to make you think or laugh. If you get offended, I feel bad for you... because this is a JOKE, something to make you THINK at worst, but at LEAST make you laugh.

Jesus is the Son of God. There is no other Son of God, except for all those who receive Jesus Christ as their Saviour. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Jesus will be fully grown when he comes back. He won't come as a little baby like he did the first time.

This is a place for questions for people who really want some answers.
As a joke, it wasn't really very funny.
But as a question it had some merrit.
Jesus was put to death on the cross. Jesus did rise from the dead. These are facts in secular history, not just the church.
Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies of the Old Testament, which for one man to do goes against astronomical odds. Jesus taught a way of life that changed the world, much for the better.
Jesus claimed to be God, which is what they accused Him of at His trial. Now, with all that in mind, He was either a liar, insane, or God.
Read the Gospel of John before you choose.

This is where Biblical knowledge would help you to understand that the one coming, who will in fact state he is Jesus Christ, but who is a fake, will certainly not be thrown into jail.
He will come performing miracles, like making lightening come down from the sky;
nobody will be able to touch him, because he will clearly be supernatural, and having
supernatural powers; it won't be just some dude saying he's jesus, like that guy in South Florida is doing right now. And, this
first "jesus" on the scene will be Antichrist.
He will be bringing with him ten supernatural "kings". This fake Christ will cause the biggest religious revival ever known to man. He will come in peacefully and prosperously - thats for everyone; a chicken in every pot, no homeless, paying off peoples bills, the whole deal.
He will be disguised as Christ, pretending to be Christ, professing that he is Christ.
Of course, he's good ol Satan, but the mass majority of good, well-meaning Christian folks who listen to their pastor instead of to Gods Word, and who have chosen to ignore warning after warning in Scripture that this fake will come first, well, they will all be deceived. Can you imagine the religious organizations and Churches who will fall all over each other to serve this fake?
But no, even if there was someone who wanted to put hands on Satan and throw him in jail, trust me, they will not be able to.
Don't forget he's one of the strongest Supernatural beings ever created. No man is gonna do anything to him, except maybe tick him off.
Then, when this mass majority of the worlds peoples are worshipping satan, the true Christ appears. If someone thinks their
salvation is sure, just try having Christ return and see you worshipping satan, and see how fast your salvation can fly out the window. It will be a wonderful time for some, but very, very sad for others.

You must consider onething particularly striking that everything in this universe is ultimately serving the purposes of mankind the most exalted being having the capability to think, communicate, comprehend but yet open to excercise the right of self determination.Divine gifts suggests that mankind must have been provided the guidance to select right or wrong so that he can excell in his faculties as everything is to facilitate him. When the human crisis have developed such huge momentum, should there not be something to guide him or steer him through this crisis;that is why the sripture speak about the advent of a new Jesus,Messiaha or Budha ti provide guidance to those who care to protect them.

If that's meant to be a joke, then it's not funny. Read revelations, just like the other one said. In the second coming, if I'm not mistaken, Jesus will descend from the heavens shining gloriously and a choir of angels will be there. Can anybody do same thing like that? Of course, not! Thats why you couldn't be mistaken.

The ancient Mystery cults were always Initialtory religions, and Wiccan is Initialtory as well. ..."Initiation" refers to a spiritual experience that profoundly affects a person's understanding in ways that cannot be fully expressed in words: even if it were talked about, only someone having had a similar experience would understand it fully; and in this latter sense the concept of "Initiation" brings us to the concept of "Mystery."
( from- starkindler.org)
Every practicing Witch and Wiccan - pagan-based philosophy/religion believes in "Initiation" and "Mystery."
Which is why it's difficult to read comments invented to insult or criticize... It reveals a commentator's motive of real 'Intolerance" for another person's beliefs or religion;
Seeing as pagan-based religions understand the concept of having faith, and a belief in "Mystery", or special knowledge that another might not have experienced. Or in a revelation that another might not have been given.
We don't have to believe in each other's religion or beliefs, or faith; or agree with what someone else believes. But we do have to be mature enough to control our indignity, hate, and intolerance of each other's beliefs; if no other way than to just keep our intolerant opinions to ourselves, and learn to pick our battles carefully.
We need to learn where and when is the right time for such comments. Like in defending yourself and/or your own beliefs against a direct attack. There is a time and a place for everything under the sun - learning when those appropriate times present themselves to us is the key to unlocking the real meaning of "Tolerance."

Jesus became man to be a ransom sacrifice for Adam's sin. He needed to die as perfect man, there's no reason for him to come back as man again.
By the way how do you feel about phone Christians stealing your festival.
The Encyclopædia Britannica comments: “There is no indication of the observance of the Easter festival in the New Testament, or in the writings of the apostolic Fathers. The sanctity of special times was an idea absent from the minds of the first Christians.”—(1910), Vol. VIII, p. 828.
The Catholic Encyclopedia tells us: “A great many pagan customs, celebrating the return of spring, gravitated to Easter. The egg is the emblem of the germinating life of early spring. . . . The rabbit is a pagan symbol and has always been an emblem of fertility.”—(1913), Vol. V, p. 227.
In the book The Two Babylons, by Alexander Hislop, we read: “What means the term Easter itself? It is not a Christian name. It bears its Chaldean origin on its very forehead. Easter is nothing else than Astarte, one of the titles of Beltis, the queen of heaven, whose name, . . . as found by Layard on the Assyrian monuments, is Ishtar. . . . Such is the history of Easter. The popular observances that still attend the period of its celebration amply confirm the testimony of history as to its Babylonian character. The hot cross buns of Good Friday, and the dyed eggs of Pasch or Easter Sunday, figured in the Chaldean rites just as they do now.”—(New York, 1943), pp. 103, 107, 108; compare Jeremiah 7:18.

People can easily do magic tricks to look like they are walking on water or curing disease or changing blood into wine. And thousands of viewers are awed, even the skeptical ones.
Now imagine if they didn't know it was just a cool stunt. Because many people want to believe in superstition, they'll buy it from charlatans who are actually magicians or cold readers in disguise (Sylvia Browne, John Edwards, spoon benders, etc). But no one locks the fakers in jail.
If Jesus were somehow the real deal and he were alive today, he'd already have a cult following, like that guy who claims to cure disease with "psychic" surgery while using pig blood, or the grilled cheese with the "image" of the Virgin Mary.
People are really gullible.

Ponder this:
Unless there is cloud in the alley and the begger rides upon the white hourse with thousands of saints behide him.
Historians have proven there was a Jesus Christ walked on this Earth. It is up to the human to believe (by Faith) Jesus was and is.
When Jesus comes there will be no more "tears" on Earth.
If Hoping and Believing in something or someone is insane then count me and my family as the insane.

The next time Jesus comes back no one will put Him in a looney bin or anywhere else. We will be whistling His tune next time. By the way if the homeless could feed themselves plus over 5000 others and heal the sick maybe we could judge better if they were Jesus. Ha Ha.

To me the bible is a bunch of metaphors. I don't really think that any of it literally happened, they are just guidelines. If we never had a book speaking of what Jesus did, just the thought that God exists in some sense, then we would still believe. Paper doesn't matter as much as faith and the desire to do what you think is right for your "God". Sure you could call it ignorance, but every religion has these things that people question. You either want to believe or you don't, you either have faith in something or you are lost, no matter what it is.
