i dont think you have to be 16...isnt there a movie called Thirteen and on the cover it has 2 thirteen yr old girls w/their toungues down but who knows?they are actresses and could be like 15.

well first of all , yea you could get no matter your age, i had my eyebrow done 2 years ago(i took it off this year) when i was 13 and my mom took me lol, as long as your parents have an I.D then yes u can get it done.
but not all piercing places will do it for you. me and my mom went through 6 piercing places before we finelly found one that they would do it for me(because i was so young). you have to sign a contract and they photocopy yours and your parent's I.D. I myself am hoping to get a toungue piercing tomorow :).
Personaly i don't think its trashy i love them., like that girl said ''its a way of expressing yourself'' so yea

Not to sure about the location where your at I know here in StL, MO you have to be 18, unless your parent/guardian is there to give their permission. I had mine done when I was 14. That was 6 years ago & I still have it. Just a couple things to think about; 1st-is if your in school, the boys are going to talk about you & what they think it is used for! 2nd- buy a clear ring for when you try to get a job or have to go anywhere "fancy". Oh! and ignore what the other person said about it being trashy! It's just a form of self-expression-like, clothes & tattoos!

16 with parental consent is the age for most places, you will need an id and your parents id as well..it really doesn't matter what you look like, for the most part people won't even know you've had it unless you have your tounge hanging out of your mouth all the time..if you do get it done get it pierced farther back, not up at the tip of your tounge 1 - it won't make you talk funny and 2 - if you need a job it's easier to hide..

I'm not sure how it is there but here if you have parents consent it doesnt matter. My sister had her eyebrow pierced at 15 because my mom was there with her. As far as having the piercing I have one and unless you are sticking your tongue out to everyone its not that noticable. I have a small barbell in and its blue with rhinestones on it. I have had mine for 8yrs now and I NEVER had a problem getting a job and I am a supervisor for one of the US Government agencies. Overall its up to you. Its your body do what you want with it.

the girls in the movie thirteen had some seedy guy do it for them. 16 is what i've heard for just about everywhere
like one of the other answerers, i've had one for 8 years, and my career is awesome. i own a cosmetology school. i've never had any trouble getting any jobs. most people would never even know

Tongue piercing looks horrible. its not necessary and just makes u look like a wannabe punk. girls with tongue piercing looks really bad

Let me let you in on a little secret. The guys who say they're "hot" like the feel of them, not the look... if you catch my drift. Thus, girls who have them are seen as trashy. Not just my opinion, but many people's. It's just a fad... and really dangerous.

There are major side effects to a tongue piercing. I know you don't want to hear it, but they are not cool when you start having problems with your teeth.

I think for piercing you gotta be 18. Don't get a tonuge ring, it's considered trashy, lowers your ability to be taken seriously for a job and makes you talk kinda funny.

yeah i think you can be any age with a parents permission but when you turn 18 and have legable proof you are 18...you don't have to have parents permission...this about the same for EVERY state.
