1st off, if you believe Jesus was the embodyment of the spirit of God, he was against church and preachers. If the only literature to save your soul/spirit/life is the bible and it is available anywhere you go, in any language, what makes you think someone else reading it or telling you what to read can save you? Isn't it a fact that Satan could use the exact man-made form of worship to benefit himself but make people think they are "doing good". My basic point is why can't people trust in their hearts and fill their minds with God's word, of course everyone makes mistakes and goes through hard times but why can't people find their own way? You were given all the tools to do so.

I don't happen to believe a preacher/priest has more favor in God's eyes by virtue of the fact they are a preacher/priest. As a matter of fact, I am sure there are many who have less favor. It's about the individual and how they live their lives rather than one's "profession" ...

We (preachers) have no more favor in Gods eyes then the least of His creation. We are no better then anybody else, nor more favored by God.
Reading the Bible cannot save you, only accepting what Jesus did for you will.
Satan loves to use people and even the scriptures to deceive people, he even tried to deceive Jesus with the scriptures.
The biggest reason we (preachers) know more about the Bible is that we study it more, not just read, dig into it, learn the history, the environment, who it was written to, etc..

Jesus was not against preachers or the church. HE was against the pious stiff necked RELIGIOUS leaders of the day.

Um, I don't. Yeah, as long as we have the Bible we have the ability to figure out the truth. However, it is good to have a preacher, priest, or just a friend helping you along to reap all of the rewards that are to be found in God's word. Two people can read the Bible twice as fast as one and share certain enlightening parts with each other. Preacher's aren't necessarily more favored but they still are necessary to help people along.

I have no reason to believe that a preacher or priest has any more favor in God's eyes than anyone in this world. God loves his children equally, no matter what we do. But priests or preachers are there to help guide us throughout our life. They help provide that spirituality that we need daily. Sure studying the bible will help us gain that, and it is very important, but we need another source of guidance. In my church we learn from each other not just a certain preacher, we have leaders, but ultimately we learn from each other. People have different incites and their testimonies help strengthen our own.

Jesus wasn't against preachers or the church but he was against those religious leaders. Preachers or priests cannot save anybody but they can present the gospel to you. People can get saved on their own but I think so many people go to church just to learn more.

You need to take a very close look at the bible itself and you could then possibly answer your own question.

The new testament is filled with letters from the apostles to new "churches" giving them advise on what they are doing wrong and encouragement in what they are doing correctly.

Now as to your first question. I do not believe that a teacher or preacher has more favor in Gods eyes, but according to the bible, they certainly do have more responsibilty.

For whom much has been given, much is expected. This is the same for knowledge of God given scriptures as well as material things given to us upon this earth.

When God calls one to preach and teach his word, he puts them in a position to be held accountable for each and every word and action that they do in his name. That does not seem like a favor to me, more like a burdon to share Gods word and accountabilty to live it and speak it as they are one in the same. Yes, all fall short of the Glory of God, but preachers and teachers had better heed the word and correct themselves when confronted with their human failings.

the bible would not be in existence today without the teaching authority of the church so we do need priests and apostiolic sucession and tradition. we can not rely on our own interpretations of the bible. jesus was not against the church or church leaders,he dindn't like some practices-most teachers pharisees, sadducces new the law but didn't practice it themselves. jesus founded a visible church on earth. for more detail try

first of all, priest must follow the word of God fullest to the letter, from what I see,its not possible to get favor for not following word of God.God made the commandment and the laws for us to follow but i see that we are having trouble hearing the word of God if the priest doen't tell the truth like they should.
