What can you do about sensitive teeth?

Sometimes my teeth almost hurt when I drink something to cold, or sometimes, my teeth hurt when I drink something at room temperature. Same with stuff like ice cream. Is there anything I could to make my teeth less sensitive? Suggestions are appreciated. (Although I don't expect many answers unless theres a professional dentist-answering group somewhere nearby)

What can you do if you have sensitive teeth?
1.Moderate your intake of sweet or sour (acidic) foods
2. Brush your teeth gently using a circular motion. Brushing back and forth forcefully can lead to tooth abrasion
3. Avoid tooth abrasion by brushing with a soft-bristle toothbrush
4. Floss carefully by moving the floss below the gum line, holding the floss firmly against the tooth and moving the floss in an up-and-down motion
5. Brush daily with Sensodyne®, America's most popular and most recommended toothpaste, for the treatment of sensitive teeth

Besides that, you can seek for dentist help, we can put a layer of material (there are several types) on your teeth, and that can prevent the feeling of sensitivity too. But these materials are all applied in a thin layer, so they do wear off, so , you need to have them reapply on your teeth in few months time(depends on your brushing technique, how you take care of your teeth, etc...)

the best teeth whitening system out on the market is called GoSMile. It comes in these little ampoules and each contains pure hydrogen peroxide which has been vaccum sealed. The whole treatment is like 80 bucks and it whitens about 10 shades. Its amazing. I know its sold at sephora but dont know where else.
