Oh goodness, do you know where it came from? England, Germany or maybe Scotland? What kind of dog is it? What is the wood? There are several questions you will need to address because it could be very valuable. If it is a bulldog hang onto it because more than likely it came out of the victorian era. Take it to an apraiser or find one online. Do a search but don't let any mean people here discourage you it could be worth up to $ 5000.00 to a collector.
