In the USA they only come with the Mazda designed Duratec 2.0L engine .. I have the lower HP California model automatic..That said, I love to drive it.. It is the best handling little car I have ever owned (and I have had a bunch). It is not a Mazda speed 3 so it will not win any drag races. But when you find a road with some curves you will find few anywhere near it's price that will be more fun to drive, with its solid lifters you can wind it up like a motorcycle.. I also cruised to Vegas on the interstate at 80+ and got 30 mpg doing it.. they are very high geared and will do 100 in 3rd if needed.. 2007 is the last year that you will be able to get the fun and practical ZX3 hatchback..If you want a little more performance buy the sister car the Mazda. Ford is giving $2,500 incentives to buy on top of dealers good deals.. You can get A/C automatic, pwr windows & CD sterio equiped for around 15K out the door in California including the 7.75% sales tax here.

the zx3 only comes with the 2.0 engine. When you're looking for an inexpensive, reliable car, the best ones usually don't offer alot of engine choices. Just like the focus. You can check out the specs and reviews thru the link below.
