I have a dodge dakota extended cab truck. I want a loud, great sounding system. What type of speakers and amps should i buy. My truck currently has a high dollar alpine head unit.

JL audio and Focal currently make the best stuff on the market. Focal is very very expensive though. Boston acoustics also makes some very good speakers.

Bose=overpriced, and you can buy Rockford fosgate crap at best buy. There are no good audio parts sold at best buy. None.

depending on budget, id go with a JL amp and Boston speakers (you already made the right move with the alpine HU). The JL "slash" series are great, and the e series are also very good, and much more moderately priced. JL also makes the best subs on the market.

I would say buy focal speakers, but theyre just outrageously priced.

get a custom box to hold like two 10" subs, get an amp powerful enough and store it all under the back seat. Id say get either alpine, kicker, rockford subs, alpine speakers for the doors, I have polk tho and I really like them. Wont be difficult to do

upgrade your doors and dash first (alpine type s are the ****)
then they should be able to mkae you a box to go under you seat in the back to hold either 2 10s or 1 12 and amp. for the small room i would go with the new kicker flat sub

Get a set of compent speakers put in your doors. It's usually a 6.5" woofer along with a tweeter. They sound great and then get a set of subs that can fit behind your seat. Hey, check out the forum at this site, there are many people on there who have the same car as you and are in the same situation. They helped me out when i first got started and can recommend the best speakers or the ones in your price range.
