for drinking on duty , and i was charged off base for dui, but it never stuck, so no DUI but i was discharged b4 court case

There isn't any way to get your RE code changed on your DD214. You can get an honorable discharge, yet have an RE-4, and they still won't let you back in. I'm sorry to sound condescending, but you should have thought about all that before you went out and got drunk while on duty.

Re-enlistment codes are hard to change, its a lot easier to get an OTH changed than it is to get that changed. Most recruiters are not even going to try to get it changed so that you can enlist. Your going to have to contact the VA to see what you need to do.

I don't think that's gonna happen.

You were thrown out for drinking while on duty. They aren't going to bring you back with open arms.

You will now need to make the best of it in the civilian world.
