I don't remember the longest word, but I know that it had over 1,000 letters. I think it was a medical term, at that.

I saw it in a textbook when I was in middle school, but unfortunately have not been able to find it on the Internet.

There are a few other words that have more than 100 letters in them-- but again, they are all medical terms.
