Is it possible to be bullimic and anorexic? For example, someone starves themselves (anorexia) and then whatever they do eat they throw it up? I'm sure that would lead to complications and death very quickly but have you ever heard of such a case?

Yes...in the DSM-IV (Diagnostic Manual), there is a puging-type or restricting-type anorexia. If you meet all the criteria of anorexia and purge, which I do, you are considered a purging-type anorexic. There is no official bulimarexia.

The is also EDNOS Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified that can include all sorts of disordered eating behaviors

They will only in the long run be killing themselves. It could be sooner then later as well. There are clinics and professional people/doctors out there to help people with eating disorders. I have heard of such cases as starving yourself and then if you decide to eat something you throw it up. It's nto uncommon I'm sure. There are so many people not just girls that have these problems adn they need to seek help before it gets to late. I would talk to a doctor or even look up this kind of thing on the internet and see what you can do to help this person.
I wish you luck and the best!!!

yes, they can exist together..
Normally, when a person feel that they are fat, they started to feel like wanted to reduce food intake. But unfortunately, they can't resist the seduction from the food. So, they eat, but after they swallow the food, they started to feel regret and guilty. That is the time they throw them out (bullimia).
The more extreme condition is that when they started to hate themselves for being so fat(which they are usually not), they strated to starve themselves. Anorexia. When people force them to eat, they will vomit out the food they just swallow. At the beggining, they are bullimic.. But later, vomiting is just a reflex whenever they eat.(Try to imagine when they are eating normal food, their feeling is as if the normal people who are eating ****. That's why they throw out everything..
They won't death very quickly. But they will definately die, if no proper medical advice and care is seek..

to be anorexic is to eat extremely little and over exercises. bulimic is eating a lot so people dont think ur differant, but then throwing it all up. So really no u cant be both, but u could be anorexic and just throw up what u do eat as u said, u would die very quickly tho, so there probably is not name for this except rehab.

It's actually pretty common. My eating disorders went in stages - for a while I was super-anorexic, then I'd get bulimic and go back and forth between the two.

Absolutely. Unfortunately one can lead to the other and simply hasten the path to death.

yes it definitely exists. a girl that i grew up with had both. she would rarely eat and when she did, she would purge whatever she consumed. i remember she keft school for a while to get herself striaghtened out. when she returned, she looked better but she remained very thin. you need to consult doctors, nutritionists and psychologists/psychiatrists to get help. good luck
