This is to Christians. Do any of you HONESTLY think that atheists believe in God, but are just rejecting him for rebellion? That they don't want his love and eternal joy and peace in Heaven? That one CANNOT disbelieve in God - believe him to be purely fiction? Seriously... answer me this. I want to know.

Well, that confirms it. A few of you do believe that atheism does NOT EXIST. And basing that on pre-assumptions that God exists in the first place despite there being no evidence!

Sure, one can honestly hold that God does not exist. Lot's of people do. Lots of very sophisticated philosophers do. Peter Strawson comes immediately to mind. And, guess what, he actually has an argument about it. Take the time to read it and present it here. See what happens. You could even title the question something like "Is Strawson right about this?" It will raise the level of discussion.

im a christian.
i do beleive some people claim to be atheists just for the attention. we are all human. we like attention. it happens. but there are people who are just not chosen by God...and some choose other religions while others go for living a useless meaningless life. not to b pessemistic about human life and about my own faith....but if u think about it...whats better? living a life of atheism while the majority of society disagree and you know very well that u cood b wrong and could burn in hell for eternity or being a christian and having nice people to support you ur whole life and knowing in the end ur taken care of whether the end is rele the end or not.
yeh...ive been thinking about it. i suppose if you beleive the latter then you dont REALLY beleive....

Im sure they really do think its a made up story. I have friends that aren't religous (Even though I am) and they honestly truely think that he is a made up figure. I know that there are some people out there that do claim to be "Atheist" simply for the value of acting diffrent. Just depends on the people, I guess.

Athiesm has long existed even through the Bible. Cain was one of the first to say to his brother Abel, that God did not exist, and there was no salvation.(Chaldee paraphrase) This to intice his brother into an arguement before he slew him. And what do you think "Non-believer" means? It does not imply only to idol worshippers, but also to those who "do not believe in God." (Hense, Athiest)

Your question is Biblicially founded. "Lovers of self more than lovers of God" You do exist in the Bible. And if you have rejected God because he is__________________and you have a better way--that's your choice and you are being scriptual about it. Thus we have not argument--allow me to accept your belief--and differ with it. If you change your mind you now what to do. enough said

The fact that God exists is written in our hearts, whether we like it or not. If God didn´t exist atheists wouldn´t spend so much time trying to convince us of his non-existence

atheists are just people who ask a lot of questions rather than accepting something to be true just because someone said it's true
in our modern world today, whether its science, law, mathematics, everything requires proof and hard evidence before we can accept them for wat they claim to be.
