and the Bible says we were made in God's likeness, as souls, so as humans, we're souls capable of intellect/will/emotion. not deities.

If humans invented god, then we fashioned him in our image, not the other way around.
High technology is practically indistinguishable from god. In the future, it's possible that human beings may attain an understanding of the universe that to us would seem divine.
Imagine playing Renaissance tunes for Michelangelo on an ipod, for instance. Or showing a Neanderthal a microwave oven. Or tell people living 100 years ago about satellite radio and internet podcasts. Or the atomic bomb. (there's a flip side: Unethical science can kill us).
Futurists are coming up with a lot of cool ideas today, like teraforming planets, using nano-technology to rebuild the human body, and creating virtual reality with computers. Most of it probably won't pan out, but the ideas are there, and humanity has already way ahead from the Enlightenment.
The sky's the limit. Or make that the solar system. Or possibly the galaxy if we play our cards right.

No, God made us in His image and as He is Spirit, then the 'real' us is spiritual. Boy am I glad that this ... shell isn't the real me.
Let me use an analogy. If you have artistic talent (I don't) and paint a self-portrait or sculpture. It may look like you but it isn't you ... it isn't human, it simply reflects what you look like.
In this way, although we do have a spark of divinity within us (which is more than the animals do), we aren't devine, we simply reflect the Devinity of our creator.

Actually the Bible says "I have made you gods".When you think about it ,we are gods ;turn on a TV and it obeys you ,or the microwave ,or move around town in your car.We also eat and drink the food of gods.So on judgement day you only have yourself to blame.

We were made from the dust of the earth.God is a spirit ,Jesus said in John chapter 4,we are not Gods (Psalm 82) we will die like men.We don't have God's DNA.Now when we receive the Holy Spirit we are sealed for redemption but never will we be Gods.

Think you had better read that passage again and then perhaps ask the advice of your spiritual advisor who dare I say may be a little more enlightened than you show yourself to be.

Definately not. I have 3 kids but I've never created life. We are creatures, not the creator.
