Chlorine is an element used to kill bacteria in drinking water and pools, and as an active bleach to remove pigment in color. Chlorine can discolor hair, damage the cuticle and protein, and create an oxidizing effect on elements in the hair. Active chlorine can leave hair feeling gummy when wet, and straw-like when dry. Chlorine can alter the electrical charge on minerals in the hair, causing them to bond stronger to the hair, and may even change the color of certain minerals. The highly charged mineral may, in turn, damage and/or discolor your hair.

By the time of the pool party, your hair may have recovered from the stress of the chemicals put on from the relaxer. However, due to the damaging affects of chlorine, I would suggest that you put your hair up and not get it soaking wet. Then make sure to give yourself a deep conditioning. Hope this helps.

You should wait about a week and a half to two weeks. When you're in the pool, pull your hair up and into a ponytail. If you do get your hair wet at the party, be sure to rinse it well and condition it (if you're not going to wash it). My mom used to tell me that "my hair would fall out" if I got in a pool after my relaxer. That's not really true; although it will damage your hair if you don't rinse out the chlorine.

You should wait about 2 weeks. When your at your party try not to actually swim. Chlorine can damage your hair no matter what. Tie up your hair and try not to get it soaking wet! Im sure you wouldnt want to use a swim cap, so just avoid swimming under the water and splash around and have fun instead! Goodluck.

sure they might shop hair very dry in case you test slightly. once you come across a solid approach anybody else will prefer to repeat you. attempt a "swim band" under a head length sized unfashionable swim cap see under
