when you exercise at a high level of intensity blood plasma is increased in the body parts that were exercised. this is how the body brings oxygen to the muscles during exercise

Your muscles contract and expand when you exert them. Inside your muscles are tiny microsopic layers of muscle tissue that are made up of tiny nerve endings that pull a group of cells - this is called contraction. If you've just recently picked up a workout routine, your muscle tissue is saying "wow, I need to make more of these muscles fibers to pull this group of cells harder" therefore the bloated feeling you feel is your muscles healing themselves and producing a higher physical ammount of tissue.

Another feeling you get is a bi-product of glygoen. Glyogen is used to work your muscles and Lactic Acid is a bi-product of glycogen. When you are all done working out, this Lactic Acid is stored in and around your muscles, therefore you can physically feel it there. Watch out! After a good nights rest this Lactic Acid will make your muscles feel stiff and sore all around.

Have fun and lift safe!
