whaaaat?....

And Brad, "a few offenses"?? In the AF, you are kicked out if you test positive for drugs. IF, however, you voluntarily seek help/counseling for drug use, they will give it to you and you will not be *AS* severely punished (ie, you will still probably get a reduction in rank but you will more than likely be able to stay in, providing you stick with the treatment/counseling).

Its up to what the current policy is for that branch of service and than probably falls some what on the discretion of the command. Bad situation no matter how you look at. No one will want (that person) in their Platoon, Squad, Team, Section, work area especially with live rounds. Because you can't trust them to make a good decision now.

Ok, well what are you doing drugs in the first place? Something one of my company commanders always said during our safety briefs "Drugs and machine guns dont mix!" I think its a dumb idea to send someone to combat when they know they are going to get kicked out when they get back though. It just makes that person so careless and demotivated.

What's your point? You know you aren't supposed to do drugs if you are in the military, you signed your name and took an oath... so what, you did it to get out of going and they still dragged your *** along and they kicked you out? I'm sure there was more too it than that 'cause you get chances to redeem yourself in the Army, I've been around it my entire adult life and seen people turn it around...

In the navy it's one pop and you're out. If you were in my division and popped before a deployment I'd see to it that the case was dragged out for months before kicking you out.

You are nto kicked out of the military for your first "pop"
You will recieve counceling, most likely a reduction in rank and a pay reduction and counseling....it takes a few offenses before you are kicked out.

Stop doing drugs - period! Cmon be a better representative of you uniform.

Brad B, I don't know what service you are in, but in the Air Force, your first "pop" is your one way ticket to the front gate.
