I'm trying to lose some weight and while I don't drink alcohol every night, I do go out probably once or twice a week and have a beverage or two. My question is, in order to lose weight should I completely cut out beer or completely cut out liquors? I've heard that vodka and other liquors have way more calories than beer, but beer gives you that awful bloated feeling. Hmmm...what to do?

A shot of vodka has about 65 calories in it where as a beer has about 125 calories. Lets say you go out friday night and order 3 drinks. 3 Vodka and diet sodas are only 195 calories where 3 beers is getting you 375 calories. Switch to alcohol and a low calorie mixer.

The question is what kind of beer do you drink? I am a bartender and I have " The complete bartender handbook" and it actually has a spot in the front that tells the average amount of calories in a typical light beer a shot of hard alcohol and a glass of red or white wine. Hard alcohol has just about as many calories as a light beer, but then you have the added calories of your mixers.....coke, club soda, tonic, or worse fruity sugary drinks pack on the pounds!

i'm vegetarian and besides the fact that if I drink beer i understand I shouldn't. maximum beers and a few wines (unsure approximately liquor) incorporate fish products in them as an anti-foaming agent. i think of the sole beers i understand of that are veggie are Heineken and XXXX. there's a regulation that states any product with an alcohol content fabric of 15% (?) does not might desire to declare this is components. Sorry to be the bearer of undesirable information!

If you really are craving a drink, stick to Lite Beer. And try not to overdo. And if you do, try not to be so hard on yourself & promise yourself you'll make up for it by doing a little extra cardio. You're allowed to have those "off" days.

Your best bet is to stop completely. Or stick to a lite beer a week or two.
