I understand what you mean. [I'm Mexican American] Maybe they are just trying to fit into a culture. If you ask me they don't have THEIR own culture since America is a combination of many different ones.

Your opinion is so close minded. I am appauled by your judging of people! I personally have never seen a "white girl" rockin that India look or whatever you are talking about. As for exotic, that term just really means unique. You are unique because this isnt your country of Origin. "Doth protest too much"- why do you have an issue with girls that you dont even know. OMG sounds to me like the old green eyed monster... Jealous much? Hmmmm. And I am white and i am not about to go tottling around in a fricking bath robe and towel unless i just got out of the shower. Go back to your country and you will be plain too...and pluck your eyebrows. People like you keep racism alive...

Yes, instead of criticising you actually should be proud that someone is taking a liking to the culture, and is open enough and loves it enough to try it. It's not what u are focussing on, that's important here, but the effort that has gone into trying something from a different culture. It speaks a lot about the courage, and a very open mind on the part of the white lady.

This is rather racist... I don't understand how they are "plain" Every other race is only 1 color. 1 plain color. White, Brown, Tan, Black, Dark Brown, Peach-ish..etc They only consist of 1 color, how can only "White" be boring? ... Btw, I'm asian, not a white girl, I'd stand up for whatever race was being discriminated agaisn't :D
On the other hand, American's culture is the example of casual dressing, I suppose. T-shirt and Jeans. That's not much of a culture..

Being India i will see why you're offended. If I have been you i might attempt and not think of of it. i comprehend it must be not straightforward yet permit the human beings make a fool of themselves. possibly then they'll come to there senses. additionally attempt to not think of of it as some white female attempting to be unique, possibly they prepare a Indian faith. i wish this facilitates you.

quickly do we smell the racism, or is it just in my mind ,why is this a problem for you ,,try this get angry because you see white folkes dressed as indians in all the movies and your a native american ,or they use a racial slur as the name of their sport teams ,but heres a hint ,im not going to worry about it that may make some folkes happy to know they bother me ,, but theres another way to look at this, the ao dai the national costumeof viet nam looks good on every woman and the mini skirt thats english right ,or the maxi dress thats french from the 1970's ,so if anyone wearss jeans they have to be a gold rush miner from san fransico in 1849 right ,,see ,,theres a beauty in the forms inside the clothes and fashion isnt a respector of nations ,,or ethnicity at all its about admiring the dress and fashions of others,, if we all wore the same clothing in the proper manner, and for the weather, it may be a point of meeting , a bridge ,,not a barrier the thing to do either would be to go ove and admire the pattern of the clothe and tell them the proper way to wear it see now they know its in your eyes and they may do as they wish but at least they arent incorrect in one way and you can be the bigger person instead of a closed mind

Well, maybe they are not trying to be exotic. I think they wear them because they think saris are pretty. I would take it as a compliment rather than an insult to your culture if I were you.

I'll agree with you to a certain extent. American's have NO culture. But don't you think you're being a bit harsh? I think that you should get mad at the clothing companies that mass produce these traditional clothes as a trend.
