I would use the clear Karo instead of the dark(easier on the tummy.) Start with one tsp. a day and see what kind of effect it has. For quicker relief, you can get glycerin suppositories at any pharmacy. Prune juice(diluted half with water) will also act as a physic.
Hope baby feels better soon!

My Dr. said Karo only works on infants (under 1 yr) it was only 1 bottle a day, but they were very small. The Dr. now gives them an RX called Miralax and there is a generic of it. It is safe and not a laxative you may want to ask about that. It is a powder you can mix in anything, I put it in juice or any drink.

I have never heard about Karo syrup. Try a little prune juice. Or raisins, orange juice, bran muffins, things with high fiber. Have her avoid bananas and cheese.

The only ingredient is corn and sugar. Yes they are the same thing. Try apple juice, prune juice, grape juice, and dropping dairy before giving her karo syrup.

Not dark, but the light syrup. A teaspoon per bottle. However, it didn't help my child, but prune juice did. Also, sprinkling bran buds on cereals. Up kid's fruit and veggie intake.

Try pear juice instead. Believe it or not it works! And chances are your child will love it. My dr. said its easier on the tummy (no cramps) than prune juice. We've been using it for my son for more than a year now.

Juices work better for this age. Prune juice is good, or pear juice works well too. Little ones usually like the pear juice better. Water throughout the day is good too.

My Doc told me that it only works on infants, and to spike the bottle with prune juice instead. For me the juice worked faster.
