Stay and pass your black belt exam. I wish my mom (or dad) forced me to go, I had to do my own thing when it came to any sport.

If you hate karate then quit. Why get a black belt? The color of a belt don't mean anything. When I started Kung-Fu, I kicked all the black belt butts in sparring class and in tournaments. They think they're all that and a bag of chips, but after I was finished with them they all quit class. I guess their parents found out how good they were compared to a beginner.

The only reason you should take karate is to prevent being assaulted. There are, however, other ways of preventing attacks like firearms or mace. People might tell you that karate is a "way of life" or that it teaches discipline but they just want you to pay for their classes. It is hard to take something seriously when your "dojo" is located in a strip mall or in the mat room at the YMCA. If you do not feel comfortable quit. Tell your parents that your sensei is creeping you out or something similar to that. Also after you get your black belt, and I can cite several examples, you will be content with your progress in karate and probably get really lazy. Some of the biggest fat asses I have met in my life had black belts.

Who knows, maybe once you get your black belt you will enjoy it.
Are you allowed to help the juniors in the class?
If not, suggest to the Sensei that you would like to help with the white belts etc.
That may spark your interest.
It is too good a skill to throw away.
Congrats on your achievement.

At this point, you should just stick with it. You may appreciate it later in life. Being a black belt in Karate is actually pretty cool......good luck and good for you.

can you fight?
If you don't train realistically that black belt doesn't mean a damn thing.
And worse off- it isn't even good as a belt because it isn't really going to hold up your pants.
Even if it did you would look pretty stupid wearing it with jeans.
The point of martial arts is to learn to fight- not to stay so you can brag about bieng a black belt only to have someone kick your *** who has no or lesser training later because you went to a school that your mom picked out, not to teach you how to fight- but to serve as a "day care center".
Here is a little simplified survey:
Am I fighting or bieng duped?
my school doesn't drill techniques at full power.
My teacher says it is not safe to spar with any of our techniques
we learn all our techniques through katas or the majority of the class is spent on learning katas
we do point sparring.
If the answer to any of those questions is "yes", then you better re-evaluate your training because it is in danger of potentially being a school that is not teaching you how to fight but is giving you a false sense of security about fighting.

You should never really hate martial arts. If your in it for your parents, the least you can do is enjoy it. So yes, stay at least until you get your black belt.

Just wait it out .
Get your black belt it is a great accomplishment you know.
Then if you need a break from it, talk to your parents.
Thats what they are there for.
Do you know how happy it would make them if you acctually confided in them instead of treating them like an alien being.
I know I am a father and I acctually have a great communication with my daughters its cool cause peopl ask me what did you do to hace such wonderful kids, and I told them its all communication.
I talk to them all the time, and them to me.
Its kinda cool . They are like my best freinds.

Hi there
I think you owe it to yourself and your parents to take your black belt. After that call it a day. There's no point in continuing if your hearts not in it. There's no shame in that your just being honest to yourself. That's what the martial arts is all about.
