You don't always know. Some guys are different though. Some make fun of you and can act a little "mean". Some Are really nice and stare at you alot. Some are just themselvs. But no matter what they are pretty much always around you.
P.S. some guys flirt.

The question should be "How do u know when a guy likes you ENOUGH". I'm sure lots of guys like you, but if they really like you enough to want to date you, then he'll ask you out on a date! Quite simple really! Girls tend to have this idea that "He likes me but he's shy" or "He likes me but he's afraid"....we fool ourselves with all that BS. If a guy likes you, he'll ask you out.

The bigger question is how do you know if he likes you for a potential girlfriend or for a little sex. The best way to know is not to have sex. Life is not easy and that part of it never gets easier. Us girls have it tough

he does stupid goofy stuff...he can't speak in normal sentences...as secure as he thinks he is...if it is REAL..and not just a question of sex...then..even the strongest most assured guy..will stumble a bit...
because if he realizes he wants the picket fence with you...he knows that just normal flirting and BS might get you as a girlfriend..but if he senses that you could be more than just a friend..and much more permanent....then he will step up his game...

does he talk to you a lot? does he leave his friends to come talk to you? does he make an effort to say hi or to come see you? does he know you very well? is he ever shy or nervous? do you think you have chemistry? have you ever thought about asking him? have any of his friends ever joked about you guys getting together? have you talked to any of his friends about it? have you talked to any of your friends for an opinion? do you think he likes you?(chances are if you have a gut feeling that he does, then he does) have you ever asked him to hang out?
if you haven't tried or noticed this then look and see if you answer yes to most of these he prolly likes you! :-)

If he stutters when he talks to you that's a sign.If he blushes,always finds a way to touch you,tries to get close to you,and if he stares at you all day he likes you.

If he acts like he doesn't like you he probably does. If he sorta picks on you more than other female friends, he probably likes you. If he kisses you unexpectedly he probably likes you. Or you could ask him like everyone else said.
