I'm having a group over my house before my prom to take pictures and I don't know if my best friends parents should be there. What do you think?

Yes, the parents should be there for before prom pics. It's tradition. You dont have to have a full out party with food or anything. Just meet up outside near the car and snap a few frames and go to you prom.
Have Fun!

Prom is kind of a "Right of Passage", and one of the few a parent can share in. Invite them to come and share in this special event. Ask them to come take their own pictures before you all leave. You'll be acting in a thoughtful, graceful manner.

Yes yes yes.. it's very normal! Parents pay a FORTUNE for their kids to go to prom.. the least you can do is let them take pictures! And they will probably cry and embarrass everyone... but that's ok cuz you can laugh about it at the dance!

I would, but don't feel like you should have to feed them or anything like that.

Its what I used to do: all your close friends meet up at someones house before the dance for pictures with your friends- if not your house, then just meet everyone a little early AT the dance.

Why not? As long as they don't follow you to the prom I don't see a problem. Obviously they love their child and want to document each step in her/his life. They do sound a bit clingy, but that is better than having parents who don't give a damn.

Why not? Its normal. Its really kind of cool. Everybody gets together. You and your friends look good. All the parents are proud. Its really a win/win situation.

I think it would be very nice of you to invite them. If it's not practical ask them if they would like copies of any pictures other people take. I KNOW they would appreciate it.
