I believe in God, there are too many things around me that CAN NOT be explained in any other fashion. But I am really tired of "christians" using the Bible to justify what they do, and CONDEMN others for their actions because they "THINK" or "ASSUME" someone is not a christian by the way they live their lives. Doesn't the bible say judge not? Before you go "Bible Beating" me for my opinons, stop and THINK about what you want to say. Use your OWN ideas, not what someone else tells you what you should think. That's what GOD gave you a brain for in the first place.
I would love to hear what ANYONE has to say on this!!

For those of you thus far who have given me your honest answers, thank you. For those of you who are still just quoting scripture at me, you are the reason I posted this question in the first place. I own several bibles and can look up "reasons why..." anytime I want.

Imagine a world, where Christianity does not exist. In that same very world there are roughly 50 -100 different tribes of people. Each tribe has its own beliefs and religious practices. Their icon that represents a HIGHER POWER is represented in a totem form of GODS most natural being, an animal. It cannot talk nor communicate the word of GOD but somehow these people form a religion based on nature. This way of life exist for quite sometime, until a drunken Spaniard trying to find INDIA sails half way around the world and lands on this new world. He brings with him a hope of a new civilization and society but leaves no choice to the inhabitants of this land. When word hits on the other side of the world about this new world, the migration begins.
You all know what happened next. If for one second you try and tell me that the original people of this great country we now call America, were savages then look within your own heart. You did not know these people all you know is what some other person has told you. I know these people, because I am these people. They didnt want Christianity and when they refused they were slaughtered.
Imagine again one more time. Your home and land you currently live on, is raided by whoever and they tell you THIS IS THEIR LAND. You HAVE to accept their religion or die by it. When that time comes, will you be ready?

I voluntarily chose to believe the Word of God and do my level best to adhere to God's expectations of me with the help of Jesus. Not an excuse, not a crutch.
I do not pass out tracts, knock on peoples doors, nor force anything down anyone's throat. I try not to judge my Christian brethren, I asked questions, then form an opinion.
I am a member of the body of Christ. We are all individuals with our own personalities. You have just made a judgment about me based on your experience and lumped me with others.
We Christians are prohibited from judging people in a manner which will defame them and pronounce judgment upon them (James 4:11-12). However, we are suppose to make a judgment on the words we are hearing (1 Cor.14:32-33)
All those that teach must be scrutinized whether they like it or not.
The Bible is a spiritual guidebook. We still have to use our brains.

Many fundamentalist Christians see their view on God as the Truth and any other views shouldn't be respected. They also link their political views to their religious views, because the fundamentalists of any faith will go to that extreme.
It helps that the Conservative movement in this country (and many others) have co-opted the "religious right" for their own purposes. Conservatism appeals to many fundamentalists because both of them believe in an unchanging world view (the old ways are best, once upon a time people were much better than they are today, etc.).
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your persuasion) whenever religion and politics are mixed, each becomes polluted and weaker (how do you feel about George W?).
Three cheers for Seperation of Church and State!!

The problem is you are rejecting Gods truth. Either youve never read the Bible yourself and you are ignorant of it, or you have read it and outright rejected him. We believe the Bible because we believe God, it is his truth.
And no the Bible doesnt teach not to judge universally. That is the all-time biggest misconception of Jesus' teachings. On the contrary we are to make many distinctions between what is evil and what is good, what is the world and what is Heavenly.
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. -Romans 12:9
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. -2 Corinthians 10:5
Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. -James 4:4
You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons. -1 Corinthians 10:21

I cannot agree with you more. Christians adjust the bible to suit their own viewpoints and their own lives. They interpret it their own way. They add things into it like all other religions are going to go to hell. It makes no sense like you just said as God would not chose just a certain group and deny the others religion. Christians are forever on a witch hunt. Unfortunately I find religous fanatics are usually not happy in their life and usually are in unhappy marriages or justify staying with an unhappy situation because of their religion. When you are truly happy you have an open mind, usually are not judgemental and evaluate a person by their deeds not their beliefs. There is nothing more frightening then when Christians get going on sending someone to hell.

Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
-C. S. Lewis
as far as *my* answer, I will say this: There's a difference between judgement and guidance. Before I became a Christian/Catholic I took offense at things that were far less offensive than I thought them to be. I did not understand. Having been on the other side (not that I berate people into being moral, I can barely handle it myself) I understand it better.
However, just because a Christian AGREES with what he/she BELIEVES in does not make them a hypocrite. In fact, it makes them what they are. A Christian. I'm not Christian/Catholic because I thought, "I need to be brainwashed, this seems like the cool thing to do...confess my sins...never get laid...YEAH!". I did it because after searching and searching for God not only did I know in my own heart that it was the truth, so much of what I'd been fighting people about was expressed in my new faith. Especially the things I argued with *other* (non-catholic) Christians about.
So the real question is, do you just hate Christians? or are you just feeling guilty about something?
Nobody likes to hear the truth.

You are so right. I believe in God and say that I am a Christian but I dont bury myself in the bible and preach to others if I think they are in the wrong. My Moms husband is the same way as you explained in your question and thats why we dont get along. The bible does say judge not, but guess what? christians still judge and believe they are better than you if you do something thats against the bible. That get on my nerves the most.

LOL!! Okay you say that "someone is not a christian by the way they live their lives" but
If anyone loves Jesus, he will keep His word; and God will love Him, and we as people will come to him and make our home with Him. The person who does not love Jesus does not keep His words; and the word which you hear (FROM THE BIBLE) is from GOD!!!
The Bible part, the Bible is Truth whats better then that?
I believe that we as people need to realize that GOD has given us a powerful thing, and it IS the Bible, THAT is why pp use it.

I completely agree with you on this. I believe it's just insecurities to think for oneself. If a person can't use their intuition or come up with an answer wthout quoting for their holy book, then they just feel insecure of their own inner feelings. Relying too deeply on something often hurts the person in the end.

You used the key word "so called Christans" real Christans will share their faith in love when asked about it but ultimately it's each individuals choice,
but as for judging others we are not to judge a person but rather their fruits, if someone claims to be a Christan but they bear only bad fruits, if their fruits don't line up with their confession there is a good chance they are not a Christan.
a apple tree dose not bear oranges.
