For the past month and a half, one of my best friends has been dating a 17 year old guy. She met him at one of her softball games. When I heard this, i was shocked! I mean, she's only 13! Her parents don't know about him. I've met him once, and he was suspicious to me. Anyways, since last week, he's been asking her to have sex with him. She says that she'll think about it. And then, yesterday, he asked her to marry him on the softball field where they met! She said yes! Nobody knows about this except for me and other friends. We keep telling her that this is wrong and that she's too young, and that this could ruin her life, but she says that she's in love. They're gonna have sex together soon. She's already planning the wedding. She wants it to be small and private. If her parents ever found out, she'd be dead meat for sure. One thing that i can't get over is that she said when he was asking her to have sex, he said "i've been waiting for the right girl. That's you." What do you think

If i tell anyone, she'll never talk to me again and she'll hate me. Oh, and for the wedding, her boyfriend is gonna have one of his close buds perform the ceremony with a bible.

1 - under 18 you need parental consent.
2 - tell her parents before she gets into trouble.
3 - the guys a perv if he wants to have sex with a 13 year old.

She doesn't know a thing about love. And a wedding is glamorous to her, of course. She's been having little Barbie and Ken weddings since she was five, and a wedding is so elegant. She's blinded by some stupid idiot, hormone-infested seventeen year old guy. And that is probably registered as child molestation or rape. She's underage and a minor. She could get her little lover-boy in prison. You need to talk to her. Oh please, and enough with the "I was waiting for the right girl" crap. He's probably had sex more times than she can count on both hands. He's some freak jerk and she could get seriously hurt. I read in a magazine about a girl in the same position. She was about 13 and she was in love with an older guy, about 18 I think. He wanted her to have sex, but she was afraid. Then, she finally agreed and ended up getting pregnant. Her parents didn't even know she was dating him. So when he found out she was pregnant, he freaked because if when she had the baby, there would be a test to find out who the father is. And if she had an abortion, the father could still be found out. Instead of having to spend ten years in prison, he killed the girl. Unless you want the same thing to happen to your friend, I suggest you get help now. Tell her parents. Do something, or your friend could be seriously hurt, or even worse.

He sounds like some freak looking to get laid even if it means asking a 13yr. old to get married to him. The second after the has sex with her he's gonna be out of there faster than she can say bye. SHE IS 13!!! First of all she could so many health problems like STD's and other sexually transmitted diseases from having sex with him and could even get pregnant. She is probably in Junior high and he is only a year away from graduating from high-school!!
And anyway they can't even get technically married she is too young to get a marriage license. She is obviously not capable of making a good decision for herself because she is too in 'love' with some sex hungry freak that wants to get laid. I know this sound horrible and she is going to hate you for doing this but you need to tell her parents or call a children's hot line or something. She may hate you for it now, but if you really care about her you will do it, and as she grows and matures she will realize what a huge favor you have done her. What happened to saving yourself for marriage? Encourage her to make the right choice if she can't the only thing you can really do is report it to an adult.
I wish you the best of luck and your friend will be in my prayers.
Good Luck
Jessica
If you have any questions at all or maybe I can send an email to your friend myself.

Okay, well her parents need to consent for the wedding anyways, and if she wants to have sex with this guy.. Well I say just keep her from doing it, shes only 13 and to me thats a young age and this guy is seriously RETARDED, not onyl is what he doing ILLEGAL, hes also risking alot of jail time... And im sorry, but you need to kick ur friends *** and turn her around, Because If this guy really loved her, he would wait till she is of the right age not only to marry her, but to make Whoopie with her... And im not saying that sex b4 marrige is bad, and im not saying that underage sex is bad... I mean HES 17 thats a 4 year difference, and i dont care How mature she seems or thinks she is, this guy is meesed up, and if i knew him i'd prolly go to jail, just because you wouldnt recognize him after i would teach him a thing or 2 about respect... And you just really no matter what, Need to set ur friend straight, shes 13 there are other guys in this world, and she is most deffinatly not going to be happy about this in the end.. You need to get the coppers involved on this guy, I mean its okay if a 17yr old wants to date a 16yr old and maybe even a 13yr old, but at least needs to not be so desperate that he has to ask her to have sex with him... This is my opinion

Girl: The only thing that she is getting is some limp hot dog without a job. Your friend is a fool for believing that dude. He just wants to pop that cherry and leave town. By the way, have you told her parents? If you don't want to be the one, an annonimous phone call will do.
Besides, your girlfriend is way too young for any judge to marry her.
Mr. M on "13 year old."

he just want to have sex with her he doesn't love her if he did he wouldn't want to do something that she's not ready for if i was you i would talk to her and tell her how you feel and if that doesn't work tell her parents and they would stop her she might get mad but one day she'll thank you or you can tell the cops cuz he's 17 and she's 13 when he tarns 18 he can go to jail for dating a kid that young and tell her that they can't get married cuz she's not 18 unless your parents says yes plus what if she gets pregnant at 13 when they have sex you may still get pregnant even if you use a condom and she'll have to stop going to school and she'll mess up her life STOP HER ASAP

No, a teenager that young is not allowed to be married. However at 15, with parent's consent and the courts approval they can be married. I am sorry about your cousin but not sorry about the baby. I hope things turn out alright for you and will be praying for your family.

Where do you live? In most places in the US you can't get married that young, even with parental permission. Mississippi and georgia are the youngest, at 15 with parental permission. Most other places you need to be 16 or 18 without parental permission.

that's absolutely insane. i think you reeeeeaaaalllly need to hold some kind of intervention thing to put her head back on straight. if you told her parents..i'm sure she'd hate your guts..but you can't let her go through with it. even if he is being genuine there will be plenty more guys in her life. she's only 13..she has sooo much growing to do. put a stop to it now. you just have to be prepared for her response.
maybe you should let her see everyone's response so she'll realize what an outrageous mistake she is making. he probably just wants to use her. she doesn't need him and it's probably not true love..she has plenty of time to find her true love.

I had a friend that was 11 and was planning to get married...that was awhile ago...they broke it off right before the wedding and then another friend said she was getting married when she was 14...that fell through too...i think you have to be at least 16 for it to be legal but i guess it depends where you live...if they do get married i dont think it will last good luck to you
