I'm getting a vaccine tomorrow and I'm so scared! This vaccine will help me for the rest of my life, but I can't stand the thought of getting it.

Stop stressing about it. You will work yourself up and may even get sick over it. If you become sick or have a low grade fever tomorrow, you can't receive a vaccine shot. So stop that!

Vaccine shots last 5 seconds. A little sting, like a little to a big mosquito bite (depending on the vaccine you are getting) because the nurse is putting a fluid into your muscle. They aren't drawing blood from a vein. And after the needle is taken out, it'd done. No problemo.

You can do it girl! Just relax tonight and go to websites that have funny pictures to make you laugh and take a warm bath or shower. You'll be fine!

You are focusing on the moment of the shot. The more you think about it, the worse you feel. That means since you made the appointment you have been suffering about this shot.
The shot itself only lasts 2 to 4 seconds, and the pain from it just a while longer. It's a temporary event (the pain.) What I have always done that has been so effective for me, is to think beyond the moment of the shot. What a relief it is to be essentially free of the thing you are being innoculated for, and for life, no less!
Doing this shrinks the pain you suffer down to just the moment of the shot, and the brief time of pain later. I do this for all the pain in my life. It's very beneficial.

You may want to do some research on the Internet about vaccines before you go and get one.

Try and Google....Vaccine Hoax....and see what comes up.

Sometimes there are natural alternatives to vaccines. Ask your Doctor.

Never look toward the shot. I learned a long time ago that it is only a tiny pain compared to any REAL pain I might experience... but somehow LOOKING at it happen just made it a tiny bit worse.

Chat with the tech who performs the inoculation... it helps keep your mind off of it.

Take care of YOU, hon. Be at peace.
