I never had to leave my children at a day care. I always had a live in sitter or nanny for them. But with my first baby I cried when I had to leave him and go back to work. When each of them started Kindergarten, I had a hard time holding back the tears. Got really chocked up. But I did well until I knew I was not in eye view, then I let it all out.

I actually did not cry...........
BUT.....
my daughter stays with her grandma while I work. She is just about to turn 1 and she is NEVER around other kids. So I opted to put her in a learning center daycare 2 days per week. We went up twice before her first actual day. She LOVED it. when I dropped her off the first day, I just watched her immediately crawling with the other babies her age. She looked SO happy. I was actually happy for her.........she has been there for 2 months and still loves it.
But when I walked through that door at the end of the day.......she crawls as fast as she can into my arms and just wraps those little arms around my neck. it is the sweetest thing ever.

I never left my son in day care before but i did cry the first time i left him to go back to work, he was about 7months. i called my husband every 1 hour and when a supervisor walked by me and i was on the phone i would change the conversation to something that sounded work related.

yeah think happy thought like when you pick him up if you can't just wait till you get to your car then do it because if the child see you cry he is not going to like the day care I had my son in daycare for 5yrs know the feeling but I would always like the projects he would bring home so he is learning so don't feel sad

NO WAY! It is the worst feeling ever. Sometimes I take my daughter to the bus for first grade and still get teary eyed. You're going to cry, but please do not do it in front of your child.. stay strong until you get in the hallway. Take one last look through the window and walk away or you're just going to make it harder on yourself.

Trust me....... it's harder on you than your child. Make sure you get a picture!! Wait till they bring home their first artwork.. that's touching too.
