Oh, I've heard it PLENTY of times. It's become a joke in the show Seinfeld, actually. Seriously, I don't know if you watch that show, but George had said that he invented that phrase, and the phrase pops up in an episode every now and then. You should watch it.

Well, I've had to say it...and contrary to popular belief I meant it! I was seeing a very nice guy who was just absolutely lovely to me, but I just couldn't give the same amount back because I wasn't over my previous boyfriend so I did the fairest thing possible and broke-up so he could find someone who could give the same amount of love and affection back. So the old cliche that when someone says "Its not you, its me" that they mean the opposite, is NOT true...sometimes when people say that, they really mean it!

Never - it's always been "me". Why? Because when I'm in love I tolerate a lot because I am a very compassionate person - though their faults or misgivings ultimately chip away at the relationship it's still "me" that leaves or asks them to. So to answer your question - never.

oh my i hate that saying.. but i've actually used that before, but not in those exact words. people use that so they won't feel As bad and guilty about their decision to end a relationship... i haven't actually heard that yet really, kindof in a way i have.. haha and i've actually heard "it's not me, it's you." basically.. but not in those words of course, but it meant the same. those are lame excuses i say. but whatever.

When I realized I said it a lot, I changed it a little... I started saying it is just me being this or that... or doing.... or thinking... or hoping... really explaining instead of leaving it at it is just me.

I know I've used that line before. Not very mature, I know. I've had it thrown at me too, so I guest I'm even.
