Okay, I'm 25 I just moved into my apartment. I really want to paint my room. It is all white and kinda boring. Any suggestions? I want it to be young and bright, but not too bright. I want it to still look like a guy's room. I like blue, red, black, and grey. The furniture is a dark brown color.

Since there are so many shades of your favourite colours, it is a difficult questions to answer...

Have you browsed Apartment therapy dot com - they have some great photos that peopl ehave submitted of their redesigned rooms.. styles from and for every taste.

Also try the HGTV's 'rate my room' - some great stuff there too.

Personally, I'd probably go for a grey-blue colour scheme with punches of red as accents:

Try 3 lighter softer grey/blue wallls and 1 deeper more blue wall as a feature wall that your bed would go on. Then choose a neutral check, plaid or stripe bed spread (not white, maybe a warm beigy grey taupe type colour) and have brick red and blue pillows on it with crisp white sheets. Maybe choose some art that has some red and some of the bedspread color in it to pick up some of the bedding and frame it with a a crisp white matte and wider black frames.

Sage is one of the best colors for a bedroom. Your room will feel like home, a definite oasis from the rest of the world. Even though its not one of your favorite colors, it will definitely work with your furniture and will bring a "not too bright" color to your walls.

I really like the light blue, chocolate brown color combo. It is very modern and fresh. Maybe paint your walls the light blue since your furniture is already the warm chocolate color. Then work that combo into the rest of your accesories.

The blue and chocolate color theme is very popular currently. It looks very manly also! If you have a Target nearby, they carry furnishings that include bedding, etc. by Todd Oldham and these are colors that he features!

I would also recommend that you check your lease or with apartment management, if you haven't done so already. Many times you cannot paint apartment walls or if you do, they keep your deposit money.

Well since the furniture is dark brown, go with a beige wall and paint the trims in your favorite color.

are you waiting to paint the wood paneling? We did that for the duration of our final abode and it regarded astounding! in any different case, my suggestion is to % an straightforward coloration scheme and persist with it. possibly like 2 colours and beautify in those colours to help offset all the wood/brown. possibly come across a neat print you like or paint up your own print, draw close it up on the wood panelled wall and beautify around that. yet another large theory is to discover a neat fabrics you like and wrap a chew of wood, canvas, insulation board or foam board with the cloth and use that as a extensive print. Then beautify the the remainder of the area with the colors from the print on your accessory products like lamps, image frames, rugs, throw pillows, and so on. have relaxing!

I like beige. It matches with almost everything. Check this out http://www.babs.co.nz/ormondhouse/accommodation.htm
Beige is also elegant.
