Christians who feel the necessity for all schoolchildren to have prayer and Bible study in school would surely have no objections to the teacher forcing Christian children to direct their prayers to Zeus, or to have their Christian children educated in the Quran, right?

Schoolchildren are forced to "pray" to the flag of the United States, which includes a mention of God. Which God did you think it was refering to, since you claim there is only one?

I think the whole Bible study thing isn't supposed to be forced. I think it's supposed to be an after-school activity sort of thing.
But in all fairness, there should be after-school activities for all religions.

Where are children being forced to pray and read The Holy Bible? Christians only ask for the right to do so if you wish such as before lunch, before the football game or after school in a Bible study group. No one wants this to be mandatory.
But most children already learn about Zeus and other "gods" in mythology. My daughter came home and asked what I thought about the quran after it was brought up and quoted from by her history teacher. Other beliefs are allowed to be mentioned, but Christianity is not. Is that right?
May God Bless you.

The Christians you are talking about are not wanting to force children to pray they just want another theory to be presented not just a one-sided arguement. Not all intelligent designers are Christians they just a scientists who believe in God and use scientific data(yes I used scientific data and belief in God in the same sentence) NO they dont want to force children to pray and read the Bible but when they are getting in TROUBLE for it that is defenitely crossing the line.

They can pray to zeus there choice but they wont get what they realy need spiritually Jesus fufills all that is needed to live a life of love.Zeus well he doesnt have that power. And if there chrsitian they would know that Zeus is well not the almighty god so go figure a stupod question from a stupid person who is unaware of what the bible teaches. You can judge when you realy understand how to judge and make comments when you understand what logic is.

This is one nation under God, not zeus, or Allah, or buddah, or thor, or mother earth, or any other pagan god. Pray to whoever you want. Our National bird is the eagle, our national flag has stars and stripes, our national currency is the dollar, our national God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Ever wonder why third world nations are so poor? They don't have God as their religion of choice. Without God we will become a third world nation. Poor in economy and spirit.

they often DO teach Zeus and Greek mythology; I never even heard of public schools teaching about Christs existence from even a historical perspective
calm down
addition- children are NOT forced to 'pray' to the flag psycho- even when I was in elementary school there were a few kids who only stood there but were allowed to not say the words or salute
go pray to your TV

sounds like the hyperbole monster is alive and well...i know of nowhere in america where anyone is advocating FORCING children to pray and have bible study in the schools...but there has been considerable opposition to ALLOWING kids to pray in school-and btw, for all you parents out there, the government CANNOT prohibit your child from praying in school, no matter how much some folks want it to...and they cannot be forced to leave their bibles at home, either...

Have you forgotten that the foundation of America is God. Not zeus or allah or budda but God. Therefore how can teaching a child living in America something about the foundation of America be wrong.

Well, name someone who worships Zeus in the United States. No one.
Also, Muslims are zealous of their religion and don't want "unbelievers" touching their Koran. They treat the physical Koran as a sacred object.

your answer #1 is incorrect, others CAN touch the Quran, if they are clean. meaning washed hands and stuff. How the heck would the relgious spread if no one other than a muslim was allowed to touch the Holy book?
