People can get cold and stray away for a while because of some the trials of life we face; some church members can really cause offence and put people off the organised church. But Jesus is always winsome with believers, encouraging them to develop.

I'm currently trying a meditation technique whereby a passage is read 30 times or more (over many days, I use a number of translations). The passage structure and meaning really starts to sink into your understanding. Doing this with John 10 makes you feel secure about Jesus' keenness to care for his 'sheep' .

I believe that once a person exercises saving faith in Jesus Christ, he or she is forever in the family of God. God never kicks anyone our of his forever family. A number of Scripture passages support this view. For example, in 1 Corinthians 12:13 we are told that at the moment of salvation the Holy Spirit places us in the body of Christ. Once we are infused into the body of Christ, we are never excised from the body. In fact, Ephesians 1:12 and 4:30 indicate that at the moment of believing in Jesus Christ for salvation, we are permanently "sealed" by the Holy Spirit. At that point, we are God's everlasting property. That seal guarantees that we'll make it to heaven.
Moreover, we read in John 10:28-30 that it is the Father's purpose to keep us secure despite anything that might happen once we have trusted in Christ. Nothing can snatch us out of His hands. God's plans cannot be thwarted (Isaiah 14:24). Further, Romans 8:29-30 portrays an unbroken chain that spans from the predestination of believers to their glorification in heaven.
Another fact we need to keep in mind is that Christ regularly prays for each Christian (Hewbews 7:25). With Jesus interceding for us, we are sucure. (His prayers are always answered!)
Of course, the fact that a believer is secure in his salvation does not mean he is free to sin. If the Christian sins and remains in that sin, Scripture says that God will discipline him or her just as a father disciplines his children (see Hebrews 12:7-11).

Jesus is a way to understand God. In my opinion when an individual feels they have found a belief, as long as they have truth in their heart for that belief, the truth can never be lost. As you know truth is irrefutable. If it (truth) is found it is eternal. Even if one loses said belief, what ever truth there was remains. No one is rejected.

Dear Steave,

If you have accepted Jesus in your heart, Jesus gives you the Holy Spirit to confirm that you belong to Him and the Holy Spirit is the promise of our future redemption.

The Bible does warn that there are those who believe that they know Jesus and Jesus will tell them that He never knew them... and so i think the key is really to examine our faith. As we examine our faith- we know that there are times are faith is really weak and lacking- and this is where we confess where we fall short and rely upon Jesus' blood to cover our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). i suggest reading 1 john 5- it's a great chapter on how the Holy Spirit assures us that we have eternal life. The Bible tells us God wants us to know that we have eternal life- that we can spend our lives producing fruit for Christ.

It's normal to have doubts- feel free to email me with your personal situation and i'll share some more verses and pray for you.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

Do you advise WILL god punish our each and every mistake? No. in case you're pertaining to the Christian god, then the respond could be....he ought to careless. All he needs is for you to have faith and bow right down to Jesus. something is beside the point. that's a bait and turn. All he extremely needs is loyalty like various great dictator....for this reason the possibility of actual torture!

The devil's primary goal is to keep us away from Christ—but if we do give our lives to Him, the devil will still try to fill us with doubt and fear. And one of his oldest tricks is to get us to doubt our salvation.

The Bible is clear: Once we truly give our lives to Jesus Christ and trust Him alone for our salvation, God cleanses us from all our sins and makes us members of His family forever. The Bible says, "The blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin" (1 John 1:7). If we lost our salvation every time we sinned, then we'd lose our salvation every day—because we sin every day. We may not even be aware of our sins, but an impure thought or an unkind word is sin in God's eyes.

The key is to remember this: Your salvation does not depend on you, but on Christ. If it depended on you, you could never be saved, because you are never good enough. But your salvation depends solely on Christ and what He did for you on the cross. Why not pause right now and thank Him for being willing to die for you? God loves you that much!

Sin is still serious, however; when we sin, we hurt our fellowship with God. But we are still His children if we know Christ, and nothing "will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:39).

We're not in charge of salvation, we don't accept Jesus, we are predestined by the Father. He saves whom He pleases.
