there's always a possibility that it can get infected. as long as you are following the instructions that the piercer gave you, you should be fine. good luck :)

Navel piercings are very tricky when it comes to healing. Because they're located in a place that 1) isn't always exposed to hair 2) stays pretty moist all the time and 3) are anchored by fatty tissue (not calling you a fatty, just saying they aren't anchored by cartilage xD) they can take up to a year to get through the first healing stage. This is the stage in which scar tissue is established thinly enough to hold the jewelry in. A full heal on a navel piercing can take up to two years. It can definitely still get infected, nastily I might add. I've had two friends who have had to have theirs cut out by their piercer because they didn't take proper care of it.
Also, not to boss you around, but I would probably switch to a saline solution for cleaning it. Soap can dry out your skin, and end up irritating a piercing. I really hope it works out for you. Good luck!

as weird as this may sound, washing it too much could lead to an infection. most piercings heal in a month (after 30 days you can take the jewlery out and change it), so unless it's still crusty around the barbell you should stop cleaning it 3 times a day, once a day in the shower would be fine.

You answered your own question..Its not even close to being healed. That means..YES ..it still can be infected. It needs to be totally healed so no bacteria can enter the skin. Bellybutton piercings tend to take at least 3 months before they even stop oozing and up to 6 months before they are considered healed.

It can get infected untill it's healed. As long as there is an open wound in the skin, bacteria can get in and cause an infection. Keep it clean and you shouldn't have a problem

yes it can still get infected. it isnt even close to being fully healed yet. navel piercings can take up to a year to fully heal. so just keep doing what you are dong fo rthe next 2 months and you wil be fine. althought mine is 9 months old and i just had complicatiosn with it now to long ago.. a boil. .eww i know but i treated it with sea salt soaks once again and its gone and is back to normal now.. but yet it can still easily get infected.
but since you are following the aftercare you have greatly minimized your risk for infection.

Until the wound is totally closed, so when you notice no liquid on the belly button ring when you move it around, you're still susceptible to infection. You're doing a great job keeping it clean though so in your case, I wouldn't be very concerned.

Unfortunatly they are very suceptable to infection so you must be particularly careful, when I got mine done I was told not to touch it unless I had washed my hands throughly clean it with (as you said salt water) once a day.
Also when washing your hair in the shower try not to get any shampoo/condtioner near it...

STOP cleaning it with soap. Soap drys out your skin. Instead try using rubbing alcohol on it or H2Ocean. Keep soaking it in sea salt water.
Good Luck!
