What makes are good and what makes should you avoid. I'm looking for something in the 2002 - 2004 range. Any suggestions?

Depending on how much you are trying to spend the best bet is to find a 03 KIA Sedona. The resale value is not that high so you can find a good one with around 75,000 miles for dirt cheap. Good safety rating and might have roadside assist remaining on the van.

Toyota. Anything Toyota. I've had a LOT of mechanics in my time and they all swear by them. Check out the Lemon Used Car Guide at the library. That may be of some help.

I own a dodge caravan. I purchased it with 169,000+miles on it and it still runs like a top. Stay away from any fords.
