I don't know about Direct TV. I was going to get it .but they never keep there appointments to install it. It's a lot better than cable. Only problem I have with service is all the button pushing you have to go threw before you get a real person to talk to.Otherwise it's been good. As to the weather issue.I have not had any.

All the Dish type Networks kind of suck.. They can have dropouts in bad weather, and you must have a 'box' for every TV in the house. Some taunt all digital..Hah.!! They have digital signal to your dish, but does not mean you are getting all digital signals. Many also do not carry good stereo. Either just mono, or out of phase.

Hi,

I'd vote clearly for Dish cause:

- cheaper
- more channels and more variety
- awesome picture quality

You might check out http://www.dishnetworkbargains.net - They currently run some promo with free Dish and DVR you might take advantage of. If you have any questions just call 'em up, they are professional and helpful.

Hope that helps.

Best wishes
Mike

I've had it for 10 years now and don't have any problems except when there is a major storm outside.
