After you shampoo be sure to use a good conditioner. There are many good ones but i personally like Suave with citrus extracts and milk protien. It's cheap and works well. follow up with a leave in conditioner. And also I love jojoba oil--it's all natrual. You can buy it at any health food store or GNC. Just a little goes a long way. Since you have short hair, i would use about a dime sized amount. It will hold in moisture and help to penetrate your conditioner or leavin-in conditioner.

Since you wash your hair every day you may not have time for all these processes so I would recommend that you, on occasion, shampoo with conditioner instead of shampoo. That is, scrub in conditioner like you would a shampoo and rinse it out. You wont get a lather but you'll still get clean while giving yourself a break from the drying agents in shampoos.

My hair stylist had told me that massaging the scalp on dirty hair will promote blood circulation and will promote the hair to grow.
Also I've heard that if you leave it dirty and let the oil excrete from the scalp it can help hair be more shiny and smooth.

good luck!

Redken.com

Look up All-Soft Shampoo there. Love it ! Adds lots of shine and smells fab !

That, or Matrix Sleek if you like to straighten it too.
