Go to the cosmetic counter at any pharmacy and ask them for a good TONER. You usually buy this stuff in sets of three, the skin wash, a toner, and a moisturizer.

You should use a good but gentle face cleanser ALWAYS and FIRSTLY, and finish up with a toner which does the same thing as ALCOHOL but is not as harsh. The toner will tighen up your pores too and you will see the difference. Actually a moisturizer is not a bad idea either...just don't use a lot and it really does help keep the skin healthy and even.

Cetaphil is really good enough for washing your face if you want a gentle cleanser and it's inexpense too.

Drink lots of water during the day too and it will flush a lot of the toxins out of your body and hopefully not as much from your pores! Eat lots of fruits and veggies too.

WELL, since you asked. Remember you use the word DRY out which suggest some wetness, which is not what you describe, you said oily. SOOOOO, I suggest that you try using a good cleaning and moisturizing regimen, (and of course a pro-active rep is going to say that - they are trying to sell something) alcohol is drying in the effect that your skin is going to react to the drying and produce more oil...so try a deodorant soap(i.e. antibacterial) to wash with and then a good quality facial moisturizer - Aveeno has good ones that are not ridiculously expensive and have little or no oil. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Use an antibacterial wash. I have used a tea tree wash, which dries the skin.

Is that really what you want to do? From experience, drying the skin did not help. Ironically, using a moisturiser did. Don't know why, but it did.

Throw all the crap away, wash face good with soap, foam up and then rinse with hot and then cold. Get some aloe vera gel
and put on afterwards, zits are history and so is oily skin.

Plain soap, warm water, and a wash cloth in the morning and at night is the most classic and simple cure. There are plenty of washes in drugstores, however, that will do fine. If you need something stronger, I reccomend seeing your doctor or your dermatologist for a prescripted wash.

dont use alcohol
no no no
it does dry out your skin
but in the end it worsens everything
alcohol drys your skin too much and makes your glands in your skin work harder and produce even more oil
just dont use alcohol

Vaseoline intensive care lotion with ALOE in it. aloe is a medicine plant. You can find it at a department store. put in on twice a day and let it soak in and it stops acne.
