Here's The original message:
My father called me at my workplace today. He lied to the receptionist, telling her it was a family emergency, in order to get me to return his phone call. He offered to take me out for lunch today, but I declined the offer. I told him very clearly that I do not wish to be a bother to him any longer. Despite his offer of help to me, in the future, I made it clear that I do not want his help. This way, I will not be made to feel like I owe him anything.
Please make any corrections as necessary. Thanks in advance.
