I find this hillarious because they do! My cat will look at full bowl of food and then walk to the container where we keep his food and meow. It is funny. In the evening, my husband gives him a half can of friskies and again, he gobbles it down, licks the bowl and goes to sleep. A couple of hours later he tries to convince my husband that he never fed him. It is really funny. He's not sick or wormy, so it has the be the lying thing! Either that or he hopes my husband has developed amnesia since he ate last!

Absolutely. My cats lie to everyone that will listen (even if there's food in the bowl DOH!), They con everyone into feeding them, the goldfish do it too! One of the dogs is really bad for it, she's on a strict diet and somehow still putting on weight! We had some very fat animals here it got to the point where I told everyone to leave the feeding to me only, they could play with them if they needed to do something. Cats are opportunistic and i'm sure they walk away saying 'sucker!'.

Only the ones that have to wait to be served. I currently have four cats and the three of them that eat dry food and can help themselves whenever they want, never beg. The one that will only eat canned food has to wait for his meals at the regular daily times. If he is fed by whoever is at home and then I come in twenty minutes later, he will follow me around meowing like he's next to starving. I usually give him a bit more, but I never believe his stories. Luckily he's in very good condition and little more every once in awhile doesn't hurt his fine physique.

My older cat Kimi never lies about anything. Everything she told me about what the other cat did in the apartment while I was gone at work were all true. But I think she's biased too because she only blew the whistle on another female cat and I knew she didn't like her at all. I have a new male kitten who is also a big mess in the bathroom and she never blew the whistle on him.

every single cat i have ever owned will not pass up more food. in fact most of them would beg for more food. i have a cat right now that will go up to every member of the house hold and pretend no one has fed him. he used to get more food but then we got wise to him and now we have to ask each other if the cat has been fed. when we started doing that he and his compaions would go around the nieghborhood and steal from other cats. so my cats arent only liars they are theives too

that is one of the faults of cats, they are habitual liars, they claim that they have not been fed in weeks (thank goodness
they haven't learned to use the phone, they would call the cat cruelty department ( they don't acknowledge themselves as being animals)). they will claim that for some reason, that the attention you have given them is far from adequate, that the
computer keyboard is the best place in town to sleep (especially while you are working), the next thing you know they will be trying to claim you on their taxes.

I have a 3 legged tabby who gives me the most pathetic look if I don't open her canned nummies by a certain time. She puts on the "Tiny Tim" routine and hobbles around pathetically until I open a can. Once she's eaten her share, she runs at the speed of light. Sometimes she puts on the routine hoping I'll open a second can...she even has this way of putting on this pathetic look on her face and meowing ever so sweetly just to try to sucker me in.

Lol. Our cat just yells at us any time she knows we're going in the kitchen and the cat dish is empty. If it's at night, and no one is awake t feed her, she starts pounding on the doors. Drives my puppy nuts, her and one of our other cats that claws the door frame when he wants into a room.
