It would be too many for me that's for sure. I like the personal connection I share with my kitties and that's what makes them my pets. If I had 32 I wouldn't have that connection with a lot of them, so they would just be tenants at my house, rather than pets.

I live in the country and have quite a few myself. Not quite that many, but they are mostly outside cats and some indoor/outdoor cats. None are barn cats. They are all fed very well. They are all neutered and spayed and very healthy.

I do have more time with the ones indoors that come sit on my lap and sleep with me. But, I try to go outside and spend time with all the others. Especially in the summer time. I sit outside for hours in the evening and play with all of them. They are all loving as can be and tend to take turns getting their attention. None are wild.

No, it is not too many if they are well fed and cared for. They all do need attention, not just be barn cats.

My uncle has like 50 barn cats. He does feed them some, but none have names and are all pretty much wild. I think that's a shame.

wow-that's alot of cats i though i had alot and i have 5!!
well i guess it really isn't alot as long as you give each one enough attention, care, and food(as well as fresh water)!!
and also have all of them or at least the females fixed so they can stop reproducing and in breading- as well as taking them to vet to get a check up-
now when you say you have 32 cats and live in the country-i understand that they are outdoor cat-am i correct? because if they are that is fine but if they are indoor and outdoor -i wouldn't want to see and smell what your house is like!!

I can only assume that these cats are "barn cats" and feast primarily on what they hunt and catch....cuz yeah, 32 is a lot of cats to have to feed. I have six and that is a chore in itself...oi veh...Not to mention, I do agree with the answerer in regards to any kind of bond or "connection" you may have with any of these cats...there can't be much of one. But hey, if you can afford to feed them, and take care of them...than have at it....

YES!! My neighbor has around 30-40 cats (we live in the country) and they ALWAYS come over to our house, and try to steal our cats food!!!

If you can afford to feed, worm, vaccinate, spey and neuter and pay for vet care and the cats all get attention and are happy (and you aren't going without food and paying your bills) then no, it's fine.

you must have a HUGE house and a lot of money for enough food and vet visits and litter and all the other things that go along with having cats.

Not unless you can't afford to feed them, sterilize them, pay for basic vet bills or emergency bills, other wise , feel free to give a home to as many as you want
