She might be nervous about how much you guys are keeping in contact and just wanted a friend there to either evaluate you or back her up. I have guy friends that offer to do that frequently, he's most likely a brother-figure and very protective of her. Can't tell you for sure whether you're heading down the relationship ladder or heading straight to the top, but either way, just give her a little space, don't let on that you're excited, but maybe talk to her about it and let her know that you were unnerved by it. Easier said than done, I realize, but good luck.

I wouldn't get too worked up about it yet. She probably went to the bar where you met with some friends. Talking on the phone with you every night is not physically dangerous for her. She may have asked her roommate to tag along in the off chance you turned out to be something a bit more dangerous or unpredictable than your encounter and conversations have made you out to be. If this continues, you've got your answer, but in this day and age, it's ridiculous for a woman to be irresponsible when dating. Hang in there...give it time.

well you cant always find someone special at a bar okay? Cuz they will be a little crazy! I encourage you not to look for someone in a bar.
Least you can do is ask her if who this guy is that is her roomate friend......Ask her if she is getting intimate with him and see....
If you really think she is the one for you try to ask her out more if you can! the worst thing you can find out is if she has her roomate as her BF!! =)

It sounds like she's into you, too. She might have brought her friend for support or protection. It is a little weird. It would be less surprising if her friend were female. Next time ask her if you can go out alone.

She probably wants to go out with you but isn't sure if she's ready to be alone with you... it's tacky, I agree, but it's like getting a friend to phone with an "emergency", just in case the date isn't going well. Give her some time.

Maybe she just doesn't want to be alone with a strange guy. It's possible. The only way to find out is to ask her.
