maybe try putting lemon juice in there for a little bit, then cleaning it out. its very strong and is used a lot to get rid of other strong odors.

Try a citrus based cleaner or plain lemon juice and you might consider trying a baking soda paste and wiping the microwave down with that. Sometimes it works for me.

Leave it open over night. If that doesn't work, clean the inside with Lysol kitchen cleaner, then with water a few times (to get rid of the chemicals). If that doesn't work, set off one of those fumigation bombs that people use when their pets bring fleas into the house.

Vinegar and water mixed is good.
If that fails...........try a few lumps of bbq charcoal and leave in overnight.
Charcoal absorbs odors.
