A butterfly themed wedding could actually be very elegant if you're careful not to overdo the amount/wattage of color.
Silver, dark blue, or variations of cream on the dresses would probably be the way to go. If you go with brightly colored dresses your photos are going to look like a bad acid trip. And PLEASE, avoid maroon. Maroon is a color that is best left on couches, curtains and football fans. Your flowers should be pastels in order to showcase your theme and complement the bride and her court.

Navy blues with splashes of silver. Butterflies are colorful and would stand out against the blue.

A nice deep purple or blue would be nice or even a dark emerald green.

You could wear any color in the evening ... seasn would matter more than time of day. If it is a black tie affair, then black is a great choice ... that or a dark navy or burgundy.

My vote would be chocolate brown. Black would be very classy, as would a deep/dark purple, blue, or red (like navy or maroon).

Burnt oranges and yellows will be wonderful. They are also nice subtle, soothing colors.

you can have a rainbow dresses, what I mean by that is every bridesmaid has a different color. not dull colors but bright. my sister in law did that. it was really nice.
