Dog experts recommend a two syllable name (this is supposedly easiest for the dog to recognize) and a name that doesn't sound similar to other commands. Also, they say it's important that the name isn't a joke or disrespectful because puppies can pick up on your tone even if they don't know what you're saying.
I also like to look at the country of origin of the dog breed to give me ideas. Why not "Kanye," since you're a big fan? Good luck with your new pup! I would also look on the web sites other people posted for some ideas :)

Isn't that a pic of ur puppy? As they grow they take on characteristics of people you know. My friends Shih tzu Maltese looks like a Wookie from Star Wars. She named him Teddy Bear. Go figure.

Make a list of cute names. Take turns calling the puppy the names you picked out. Most times a dog will perk up at the name he likes.

I think a cute shih-tzu name is Hunter, that is what my black and white male is named... Bo is also a good name... if he is kinda tan you could always call him Tanner... just go to a web page and pick out a few names you like and see if they fit his personality you will eventually find one that fits...

i named my cats after presidents(first or last names) because they think they are in charge. they make good pet names.......truman, nixon, reagan, mckinley, zachary, taylor, quincy, chester, grover, clinton, carter, kennedy, franklin
some other good names i've heard at the dog park: gandolf, dodi, kujo, casper, lewis, wrangler
good-luck picking a name. i find with all my pets that i end up calling them by a nickname anyway!!
