I was in the kitchen making dinner and was in and out of the cupbords when I noticed the cat by one of them. My Boyfriend must have placed a rat poison pellet try to try to rid us of mice. I did not see the cat eat any, but there was a pellet right next to her, so I'm assuming she mush have.
What should I look for if she's going to get sick? Should I take her to the Vet? please keep in mind we don't really have a lot of funds for an expense like that, especially if it's a false alarm.

Syrup of Ipecac can be used to induce vomiting. Call a vet office and ask about administering it - like IMMEDIATELY. If you wait for "signs" it will be too late.

At one point I was afraid my one-year old son might have ingested some snail bait and I had to make him vomit to be sure there was none in his stomach.

Take her to the vet, they can give her a vitamin K shot to be on the safe side. What would you prefer, to be out of pocket a little or a dead cat? Old fashioned traps are more environmentally friendly and safer mice die a slow and painful death with poison.

Don't induce vomiting, she could inhale it into her lungs which is a direct supply to the blood system and heart and it can burn the respiratory tract!

Try calling your vet or you try can try taking her in just to be on the safe side. You don't\t want to take any chances with her life. Its better to be on the safe side than not to have done anything at all. So i would definitely try to get a hold of you local vet and ask them if you could bring her in for a check up as soon as possible

You'll have to go to the vet. Most rat poisons affect the clotting of the blood. She'll likely need Vitamin K shot from the vet.

keep a close watch on her and if she looks like she's getting really ill then get her to the vet.
try and get her to drink lots of fluids if possible and u might want to call the vet and get his suggestions and in the future make sure the rat poison is UNDER an appliance where the cat can't get it

well you will know when she starts getting sick-but if she does it may be too late depending on how much she could have gotten into-if it was a little i wouldn't be too worried it may make her sick but won't kill her- but if it was a lot and she seems to be lying around the house and looks uncomfortable and is puking she may have eaten too much and may be too late-to tell you the truth depending on how my she means to you i would just take her to the vet to be on the safe side!!

Call your local poison control center immediately.
Just like that poison can kill mice and rats it can and
will kill your cat if he ate it.
Get off the computer and call right now.
