Oil, control of the Middle East. Continuous civil war in Iraq. There were no WMD's, there are Al-CIAeda. You think, who benefits? How about the arms industry, and the oil companies. As long as there's oil there and a constant war over there, both will profit at the expense of our men and women soldiers who are going against the people who don't want them there. Hell if someone forced upon their politics on us and we didn't want them, would you fight back. Especially when they use depleted uranium rounds on us, causing our people and children to be hidiously deformed and die. Would you do everything in your power risking life and limb to drive out people who think you're the enemy.

No one ever puts themselves in another's shoes. They call the people fighting back insurgents and terrorists. Is that what our founding fathers were to the British. NO, they wanted freedom and independence, and by God they got it. I support our troops, that's why I'm saying BRING THEM HOME. They talk about constant chaos if they pull out. There was plenty of that beforehand, now we have our troops in the crossfire of all of it. I'd say, let them deal with how they want to run their country, and we do the same with our own.

Saddam Hussein and his butcher sons. Oil. Iran. To try and stabilize that section of the world even though its a little like Don Quizote tilting at windmills. The reasons are legion. Now the most important thing is to find a graceful and effectictive way out. Not easy, for sure...but doable.

You know, I once thought we were in Iraq for oil. then I thought, Bush is smart enough to realize that if all he wants is the oil, then he shouldn't be having troops build schools, roads and hospitals rather than _just_ securing and guarding oilfields. (I wouldn't count on him winning any Jeopardy! tournaments, but that's not saying he's dumb)
I'm still uncertain why we're in Iraq. Yes, I do think it's a good thing that Saddam is gone, but I think that it should've been Iraqi musclepower and brainpower that caught him. I mean, it is their country... shouldn't they be the ones fighting for it?

I feel like I'm babbling.

Beauruatical bs to put it simply, BUT I know our troops are over there because Bush is greedy and wants their black GOLD mine to help us. Oil is the main reason we are over there in Iraq. Now when this war will end is something we will never know. This is a good question ask our president the wonderful George Bush and MAYBE he'll give you an honest answer. Even though he can't find honest answers day to day they change. Here's hoping our troops come home safe.

Capacity to produce WMDs with a history of using them
Tyrannical leader who murdered his own people and was growing mreo and more bold after betting away with breaking 17 (SEVENTEEN) UN mandates and going virtually uncheck for a decade.
These were reasons for the invasion, which we completed in a couple of weeks.

The reasons to stay are to provide security and assist in stabilizing an Iriaq Security Force that is capable of defending Iraq. Iraq is central to the Middle East and a stable Iraq is key to stabilizing the region and is an excellent logistics arena for future quelling of sectarian uprisings and terrorist threats.

some possible reasons:

Want to increase democratic nations that are proUS in the world

Strengthen the World Economy by having a democratic nation that will set okay fuel charges.

The eradication of a leader who was a dictator and killed whomever and whenever he wanted.

The possible cessation of the civil war between the Sunni's and the Shi'ites.

The completion of what was started in the early 1990's.

The Eradication of a US hating leader

Bring stability to an otherwise unstable and explosive situation.

To Liberate those poor Muslims over there in the Middle East.

No matter how many American lives are lost or how many American tax dollars are spent.

I could just weep over the plight of those poor Muslims. I´m just glad they aren´t required to fight for themselves...That´s our job.
