You say "3 letters" and not a 3-letter word. Going by 3 letters I can give you the 3 that my captain used when I was a beginner and made a ball about as often as Tuesday rolled around. The 3 letters were: ADT. They stood for - About Damn Time.
Other 3-letters used: TAW: That's A Winner!
A 3-letter word for snooker players would be "pot".

You are looking for "pot". But only snooker players in Europe use that term. In America we do not specify the act.
