If you're sincere and you are praying to Christ (who paid for your sins so you don't have to), yes, you're "in"!
If, however, you are planning to do this.....just sin and sin and ignore God until the moment you're on your deathbed, well, then you're probably not sincere.
ALSO -- how do you know WHEN your dying breath will be? You might get killed instantaneously and not have a chance to ask for forgiveness. Don't risk that!
God bless you!

Odd that you would have baptized knowing about your commitment to God, and the clergy baptizing you after examining you, then performing this rite, and you just walking away. I can't judge your dying words, but it's kind of a proof that God would have to act in your heart at that point, it would never have been up to you.

It depends on God . Only God can judge what is in a persons heart. Its better to seek forgiveness, repent and turn from sin now. Seek Christ now before it is too late.

No. Sorry, you lose. You are referring to the 'thief on the cross' doctrine, as in when Jesus told the thief on the cross next to Him that he would be in heaven with Jesus that very day.
The problem with your thinking is this : the thief had never heard the doctrine of salvation until he met Jesus on the cross next to him. You will recall that there were two thieves, one on either side of Jesus. One scoffed, and said to Jesus "Why not save yourself?" The other asked Jesus to remember him when He got to heaven. So for his faith in Jesus, Jesus rewarded him. The other thief awaits the lake of fire come the judgement.
You, on the other hand know the doctrine of Christ, since you were baptized when you were 17.
As a matter of fact, it will be worse for you, since you knew God, knew Jesus, and turned your back on Him, and returned to a life that you knew led to spiritual death. This is evident in the Word of God where Jesus tells us that not everyone who says 'Lord, Lord....' will be received. He will tell them, 'Depart from me, I never knew you.'
Sorry.

Well you should know that baptism does not save you, it is symbolic. You should not count on that. Part of coming to Christ for salvation is turning from sin, faith in action. You will be responsible for what you know, so live for him now. Christ will save you on your death bed but if you trust Him it must be sincere. There is no such thing as a get out of hell free card. A prayer does not save you. True faith in Jesus Christ is the only way.

You may have to do time in Purgatory. But eventually you will make it into heaven. The man on the cross next to Jesus was promised heaven that very day. It all depends on the mercy of God.

You must have a personal relationship with Jesus: you must believe He is God (Trinity) and that He died and rose again just for you! Just so you would not have to perish in death! Baptism is only an act to show you believe; it does not save you and neither does any other good work or good deed or telling people to go to your church.
Darryl L, no one and nothing can snatch a person from God's hand. Be careful how you word that, because people will see it as that you can be snatched. Instead, say, "You knew the truth but you would not follow it, so you never were saved because you never accepted salvation." :) Blessings.
Mary W, purgatory is a lie made up by the Catholic church. There is NOTHING in the Bible that discusses it. Those who are saved, go directly to heaven with Christ. Remember the Scripture where the man asks Jesus while they are dying if he will remember him? Jesus turned to him and told him that he would see him in heaven TODAY, not in many years of purgatory! If you do not believe, you go to Sheol.
Ephesians 2:1-10
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

No, you will be judged according to the deeds you did. If you were a disbeliever in God, you will be in hellfire for eternity.
However, if you were a sinner, but believe in God, by saying the Shahadah (testifying of faith) then hell will be a washing machine for you, you will stay in there until you have been punished for your trangression and then you can go Paradise.
The testifying of faith is
"La illaha illallah Muhammad dur rasulallah"
(There is no diety worthy of worship besides God and Muhammad was his messenger)
