I'm sure somebody out there knows the type they had in MASH the TV series. Thats what I want.

distillation is a simple process, you can find the stuff to make a simple glass still in a ny chemistry lab or lab supply store.
distilling is still illegal in the states so be carefull.

you need a heat resistant non reactive vessle with a tight fitting lid with a nipple on it like a pressure cooker, or affix a fitting on a normal pot

a coil of copper, glass, or other highly conductive food safe substance.

a catch vessle of some sort

a fermentable liquid

a controlled heat source

heat your fermented mash to 175 to 178 degrees F. and let the sweet rotgut flow

Thank you for posting your question, we'll be notifying the Feds immediately. Home production of hard liquor is illegal, even if it is intended only for home consumption.

That being said, traditional stills were made with copper tubs and copper tubing. Copper tubs are not made anymore, but do not substitute a galvanized tub, the resulting product will make you go blind or worse.

if you don't do it correctly, you can be blinded by the methanol produced
