I am going to be ovet £95 per year worse off before any of the additional costs of the increase in indirect taxation. It seems the only winners are married people with children earning over £17,000 per annum.

Notice how cigs go up tonight but the cut in income tax starts next april? And the cut in tax is offset by the rise in national insurance and the abolition of the 10% tax bracket - so in effect the tax of the lower earners has gone up by 10%.

Any increases will be implemented immediately, any reductions will have to wait until April 2008 I wish I could hibernate for a year.

do people not learn that if he drops one tax then he has to make it up again on another.. come on its easy to work out.. but someone will always be worse off...

people who smoke i am sorry to say the way the world is going you will be paying more for cigs... you will always be the unlucky ones....
